Life Goal
Life Goal When I graduated from high school, I could remember my teachers discussing how life will be after that. And some of the things that I could recall from those discussions were college life. Entering the college means you don’t have a specific target like entrance exam in junior and high school. At this time, looking at the future and planning ahead will help you complete what you need and help you get who you are, where you want to go and what you need to get there. I always see myself as a diplomat, working in the field of international cooperation and striving together for peace with many other countries. However, there are some short term goals I have to achieve now. First, I need to enhance my English listening and speaking skills. Being a prominent diplomat means you have to full understand what people say and express your own opinions clearly. So you inevitably should communicate with people with no obstacle. And in these days, English is the last thing you could lack. Second, I must learn more foreign languages. Because in this field, you would contact with people from various countries, more languages you learn, more fluent you can communicate with people. Last but not the least, I have to broaden my horizon, learn how to get along with people and make people be convinced. It is essential to do with people sophisticatedly and make your word persuasive. Then, to be a diplomat, you have prestige. There’s never a good time to sit down and think about what I want to accomplish in life. Everyone may have busy lives, and even when we’re not busy, we might just feel more like verging in front of the TV or checking our feeds than thinking about the rest of our lives. And that would make people feel as if they're adrift in the world. They work hard, but they don't seem to get anywhere worthwhile. So why not set your life goal today, if you haven’t yet. Start living your life so that you will eventually get to that

Being an ambassador’s son, I believe it is the most fortunate and life-changing parents’ job that any kid could dream. I had the occasion to travel and live in lots of diverse places. Since I was seven years old I lived in eight different countries. My father was assigned to stay at a certain place for at least 6 months. During this time I would spend most of my time in a very rigorous and restricted international school for just diplomats’ children. The classes were taught in French and in English. Most of the time, I would be many days inside school without having any contact of the outside world. But in one trip, I had the opportunity to really have contact with the native people, see the true culture and the life style of the country. It was in 2007, when my father was assigned to manage the Brazilian Embassy in Riyadh, the largest and the capital city of Saudi Arabia.…

There exists this pressure on my generation that we must have our entire lives already planned out to a T. Even as a fifth grader, I remember a prompt on a state test asking “Describe your lifetime goals and how you will achieve them.” This question is asked throughout our lives in different variations but the point remains the same. What are you going to do with your life? Asking me this prompt throughout my years in high school would have given you 4 completely different answers. Just a couple months ago I would have given you a different answer than I would have now and I’m sure a similar story can be said for almost any student. Lifetime goals evolve as we mature and grow throughout life, and my high school career reflects these changes.…
