Life - Compare and Contrast
The only thing more confusing than a roller coaster is life. There are many ups and downs, twists and turns, and just when we think it’s getting interesting, it comes to a complete stop. Much like the roller coaster, life starts out slow, inching its way towards some big event, some powerful happening. It seems like it takes forever to get to that moment, the top of the roller coaster. The only thing you can do is close your eyes and hold on for the climb. Once you hit the top of the coaster, or the special moment, things go downhill very quickly. Life starts to go in all different directions and sometimes it feels like you’re upside down. Although the first few twists may be manageable, they start to get tougher and tougher over time. The turns life takes get to be too much for you, physically and mentally. Soon you don’t even know what’s going on, you’re just dizzy and confused. After the flips go on for a while, you finally feel like you’re slowing down and straightening up, and then the cart comes to a stop and the bar comes up. You’re done. There are no more turns, no more hills, no more going upside down. You can get off the ride with the satisfying feeling of conquering the roller coaster that is life. Even though life is much like a roller coaster, it is also much more intense and has a longer lasting effect. Life isn’t over after 40 seconds, and you can’t push a panic button if you want to stop. There aren’t physical flips in life, and there isn’t always some amazing climax that changes everything. Life is more like a roller coaster than people realize, so enjoy it while it

Going around and around up to the stop in what will be the most dizzying part of the whole ride. There passengers will experience a constant speed, until it slows down and stops for a moment. In those three seconds riders will be distracted by the figure dressed in white, before they plummet into freefall and experience weightlessness. Reaching terminal velocity and higher air resistance down the drop, at the bottom will go underground and will experience the highest air pressure. A few sharp turns, and passengers hanging onto their limbs for dear life, they will emerge from underground and do a loop, only be sent back underground. Consequently, riders will perform a horrifying turn, then fully emerge from underground and slow down, experience the most…

For me Dan Lewis's view of "life being a smorgasbord" does apply. Life's is like a food buffet with many experiences, some you may like and some you may not but that's okay because you will try them all anyway. When you look at your life you should think of where you are now, where your going and your accomplishments. An example of my life beiong a smorgasbord is when my 7-year-old twin brothers were born. They had been through multiple heart surgeries, many months in Dayton Childrens and still to this day are fully functioning. They were born with chagre syndrom. You go to bed on eday thinking everything is okay, your life is on track and it'll all be thge same tommorrow, the next day and the day after that, but then you wake up and youre…

Augustus Waters from The Fault in Our Stars once spoke, "I'm on a rollercoaster that only goes up my friend." At one point in my life, I found this quote to be totally insignificant. Now that I look back on my teenage years, I see it. The rollercoaster only went up from the point I opened my big, fat, attitude infested, mouth to my step-mother, Verona. The take off was bumpy, as well the entire rest of the journey up. Though it did eventually come down, not only going up. I came down an entirely different person and didn't have to think of life as a fictional roller coaster to stay happy.…

At various times, roller coasters, or more specifically the trains of these, undergo acceleration, which is defined as the rate of change in velocity. The change may be in speed (magnitude) or direction, or in both. Roller coasters accelerate when they speed up and make the ride faster, slow down, or change direction. It decelerates as, for example, it ascends as if going up a hill. In this case, acceleration is dependent on its mass and the other forces acting on it. It is the acceleration of roller coasters what makes the ride more thrilling and exciting. When riding in a roller coaster a person may at some point feel weightlessness because they do not feel the chair they are sitting in as the roller coaster and yourself move vertically at 9.8 m/s^2. Therefore, you encounter with Galileo and Newton’s principle of free fall, an object moving under the influence of gravity only. Newton’s laws of motion state that the sum of the forces acting on free-falling objects, gravitation and its inertia, equals to zero. Because these forces add up to zero as gravity cancels out with the object’s inertia, then the rider while riding in an arched…

Those consequences, good and bad, are what make my life a roller coaster. That is the second way in which I can relate to parenthood, the roller coaster story told by Grandma. She basically said that life was like a roller coatser, with twist and turns and ups and downs. My life today is very much like a roller coaster. Between trying to have a social life and stay involved in sports, while still getting good grades in school, its not easy. I have high points in my life where everything seems to go my way and life is good. I also have low points in my life. I am human, and that means I make mistakes and forget things. When those things happen I get stressed and life gets a little tougher. Going back to the rollercoaster, I know that I can get through the low points of life and it will eventually get better again. That is how my life is like a roller coaster, with ups and downs and twists and…

Life can be challenging sometimes. For example, I find it hard to read. When I pick up a book I lose the experience of the story, because I am trying to figure out how to sound out the words on the pages. Some people enjoy stories so much that they have a hard time putting the book down; I have never experienced that. I wish reading came easier to me. On the other hand, life can be joyful. As a girl who had always hated heights and finding myself fifteen stories in the air, the only thing that came to mind was if I was going to make it off the roller coaster I was riding. “Wooooshhhhh!!!” At blast off, California Screamin, took us through twists and turns, with an upside down loop. People were screaming their lungs out when the steel roller coaster soared into the air like a rocket. The terrifying speed made my toes curl and the strong wind pushed my head against the rubber black seat. I cried bloody murder on the coaster as it fell plumb down almost touching the ground. All too soon, it was over. After I got off of the thrill ride, I found my haggard look with disheveled hair through a snapshot picture. This is simply too awful to contemplate.…
