Liberal Arts Degree Analysis
The most valuable, interesting, and useful that I learned is the value of liberal arts education comes from the diversity of subjects. As a liberal arts major, I can do anything I want with the degree. I believe that there are a lot of employers that would recommend a liberal arts education as the best way to prepare for success in today’s world. Some of my military retired colleagues say they would give hiring preference to college graduates with skill that enable them to contribute to innovation in the workplace. That’s because the degree in liberal arts provided me the abilities I need to work and contribute anywhere. The purpose this degree is not to prepare me for one specific job. Having a good writing skills is very important. In my military experienced, what matters is whether you’re an officer or enlisted essentially to be a good leader is taking care of Soldiers and accomplishing the mission. The mission can be vary, from a simple company training exercise to a very complicated complex multi-national exercise. Same on taking care of Soldiers, it can be from a simple of doing a negative counseling to a Soldier that shows up at work on wrong uniform to something very complicated like making sure that a deserving Soldier gets a purple heart award from a wound sustained from Afghanistan. Without an Army leader who writes effectively enough to get the operation order for that field training exercise or to get the plans in place for that really complicated multi-national exercise, those exercises will fail. Without a leader to write a really good negative counseling statement or conversely a recommendation for Soldier who deserve a purple heart, those Soldiers will not get the discipline or the recognition that they deserve and that leader is not doing his or her job.
