Letter To The Outsiders
Dear Megan, I am currently reading the book The Outsiders, and while reading I concluded that it would be the perfect fit for you. I have known you for the greater part of my life and you have been in all of my reading/LA classes (up until this year), therefore, I know what kind of books you enjoy and I expect this would be one of them. I trust you would enjoy this book because it has segregation, high stakes, and strong friends and family bonds. I know these are specific qualities that you have enjoyed in previous books, so based on this I believe you should give this one a try! Now before I tell you to just go on and read it, I feel it is necessary for me to give you some background knowledge about this book. The Outsiders features

Strong friends and family bonds. Think of all of the hardships I told you characters in this book had to endure. Think of how challenging that must have been on the characters. And yes, it was extremely tough on them, but they always turn to each other. They value their friendships above everything. They leave their doors unlocked at night just in case one of them needed a place to crash in the middle of the night and didn’t feel like returning home. They don’t think it’s unusual for one of them to wake up and find another crashed out on their couch. Typically, it was their pal Steve who's parents kick him out about once a week. They are basically all one oversized family (Hinton 105) Yes on the outside, they may seem like super tough guys who are always looking for a fight, but honestly deep down they will always have a soft spot for their family and friends. None of them have parents that are involved in their lives, which makes them turn to each other when in need. I know there are certain books that you have read where it takes a family to help everybody get along. I know this is another quality in a book you appreciate considering again, a large amount of books you read have strong friends or family bonds like Sisters Keeper and House Rules. Moreover, since you have enjoyed those books because of their strong family bonds, I know you will be fond of this
