Letter To Otto Frank
I think that Mr. Frank would say this because he knew that he wasn’t the only one who was a part of the Holocaust so he thought that he did not deserve the recognition that he got by millions of people as much as anyone else that had to suffer. Also Otto Frank new that he was lucky to have been hiding for 2 years he got more food than most people in the concentration camps and he was able to avoid working long hours and getting sick, tired, killed, or hurt for as long as he could until he was captured. I think that Otto Frank was just trying to keep his family, himself, an others safe for as long as he could. He tutored Anne, Margot, and Peter. He told Anne, “I’ll have to make a confession. Up until now I’ve managed to stay ahead of you in algebra. Today you caught up …show more content…
He had done the best of what he could do in his life. He had tried to save his wife, girls and friends during the war; he had tried to help them live the best they could during 5 awful years. He succeeded in transmitting to them enough courage to live happy in despair. throughout the two years that the Franks were in hiding, Mr. Frank was the strongest person in the group of people in hiding. Mr. Frank helped a lot of people while they were in hiding. Otto Frank thinks that he doesn’t deserve to be called a hero because he knows that he wasn’t the only person who was in the Holocaust so he knows that he wasn't the only one who suffered. He knew that there were other people who had to go through the camps longer than him and who tried to save others. Mr. Frank was also humble an maybe he didn't realize that he was helping and maybe even saving the people that were living in the Annex. I believe that Otto was just being himself an was putting others before himself. He was calm an sensible which was what everyone in the Annex needed when things went wrong. Otto Frank was a very good man and he tried his best to make everyone

Do you get along with your family? Well in 1942 during the reign of Adolf Hitler, The Frank family and the Van Daan family were forced to not only get along with their own family, they had to with another family of three also. Anne and Peter certainly didn’t have the best relationships with their own families. In those times of conflict there has to be a high authority figure to calm things down. Especially in this time, that was the man of the house. Mr. Frank and Mr. Van Daan are different as fathers, husbands, and even leaders.…

Miep Gies was a Dutch citizen that hid Anne Frank and her Jewish family during the Holocaust. When Adolf Hitler, a German Dictator, and his soldiers began the Holocaust, The Franks decided to go into hiding and Miep Gies agreed to be their helper. Gies was aware that the punishment for hiding a Jew was the death penalty, however she sacrificed her life, remained loyal to the Franks, and stood for what she knew was right. This is why Miep Gies should be considered a hero and admired for the sacrifices she made.…

The Franks fled Nazi Germany for the Netherlands in 1933 to avoid persecution. The way the Jews were being treated in the Netherlands was becoming very similar to the Jews harsh treatment when in Germany. This meant that darkness was near, deportation and death was coming soon. With the knowledge of knowing what was next the Franks began to organize a plan to go into hiding shortly before Anne’s 13th birthday. One day in July of 1942 Margot received a letter informing her that she was going to have to prepare to go to a workers camp. This changed the Franks plans immediately and caused them to go into hiding the very next few days. Their hiding place in which Anne called the secret Annex in her diary was located in the upper-back portion of Otto Frank’s business at 263 Prinsengracht. About a weeks time after the Franks got situated into their new hiding area, they were soon joined by another family named the van Pels also known as the van Daans in Anne’s published diary. “Last to arrive of the eight people that were to hide in the Secret Annex was the dentist Friedrich “Fritz” Pfeffer also known as (Albert Dussel in the diary)on November 16, 1942.” ()Anne’s Diary describes and talks about the differences between the seven other people and their difficulties within their living situation. Throughout the pages the ink in the diary words of fears, worries, questions, hopes and a young lady attempting to find herself regardless of what she had to face…

Anne and Margot were sent to the same camp while her mother and father were sent elsewhere. Years later, her father; Otto Frank being the only remaining Frank discovered Anne’s diary and the depth of her thoughts, ambitions, dreams, and intelligence which even he was shocked to discover. Anne Frank often represents the many people who died during the Holocaust, showing people that these victims were actual humans and it really happened. This gave her the title, “The Face of the Holocaust”.…

They had spent two years of their life in the Secret Annex for all to come to end because they were found just weeks before the end of World War Two. Mr.Frank was the only one of the eight hiding to survive the camps. He later returned to the Annex and found Anne’s famous diary. Anne, Margot, and Mrs.Van Daan died in Bergen-Belsen. Furthermore, Mrs.Frank, Mr.Van Daan died in the dreaded extermination camp of Auschwitz. Additionally, Peter Van Daan deceased at Mauthausen Concentration Camp, Austria. In this essay, I really like the character Charles, who was courageous and caring. One night, inside their room, a sick Dutch Jew, Lakmaker, was suffering and wanted to go to the latrine. However, because of his illness, his body was way too weak to walk to the latrine, that eventually he fell to the ground and couldn’t help himself to stand up. He groaned of pain. If this occurred during the harsh days of Auschwitz, no one would bother to help him either. Lakmaker would hdddfave stayed under the ground until the next day, waiting for the death to approach, still groaning with pain. However, Charles lit the lamp and began to help Lakmaker. Even though Lakmaker’s bed was filthy and smelly, Charles silently “lifted Lakmaker from the ground with the tenderness of a mother, cleaned him as best as possible with straw taken from the mattress and lifted him into the remade bed in the only position in which the unfortunate fellow could lie. He scraped the floor with a scrap of tinplate, diluted a little chloramines and finally spread disinfectant over everything, including himself (pg 167).” Maybe Charles helped him because he never knew the hardships that occurred in Auschwitz and never been a beast before. But I was truly impressed by his humanity, who silently helped the ill, despite the fact that the illness could also transfer to him and considering about the contagious illness, he also spread the disinfectant over everywhere. I think he wanted to survive with most of the people inside the Ka-Be, that time.…

The Holocaust was an event that changed history in the eyes of many. It started as a minor German government problem. It then grew into a worldwide scale problem and ended up with over 10 million dead. It had many emotional and physical scars implanted in thousands of others. Gruesome things happened. So, therefore, Anne Frank would not still have said that all people are good deep down.…

Towards the end, the Jews eventually started to lose hope and didn’t try to stay alive any longer. As for Victor Frankl, his experiences in the concentration camps were just as bad as everyone else's. The only difference between Frankl and most others is that he always kept a positive mindset and always used different methods to get him through his days. For example, Frankl carried three methods with him, one was completing tasks, two was making sure to care for one another during this horrific time, and three the most important one was finding meaning by facing suffering with dignity. Finding the proper meaning of their life during this time was very important because even though all the Jews were going through a really bad time or felt they had a really bad life, Frankl would try to remind as many people as he could to just find the meaning of their life instead of giving up so easily.…

He shares his thoughts, and his reflections looking back on the terrible events he endured. He didn’t just show his hatred for the Nazis, he showed all the emotions he encountered, which were not always negative. For example near the end of the book, right after his release, because he had strived so much to survive he had regressed to animal instincts; he says “Our first act as free men was to throw ourselves onto the provisions. We thought only of that. Not of revenge, not of our families. Nothing but bread.” (119). He shows how complex his thoughts about everything going on around him were, there was not one clear direction. In the dire situations Jews during the Holocaust were put through they all had mixed feelings, they had been so abused mentally and physically they could not and did not want to even contemplate what the Nazis had done to…

By thinking this he thought he was invincible "becoming so visible so that nothing can touch him". At the time of the war, it was promised that his wife and child would not be harmed if he played for the Nazis. Unfortunately this was not the case. After losing his family, his reality has been a constant escape, trying to run away from his past and the burden of thinking it was his fault for the death of the people during the holocaust. We see Keller as just an arrogant person but he was never like this until the remorse and regret of his past transformed him into an entirely different person. Keller’s frequent reminders of Vienna are taken from clippings from newspapers his “textbooks”. Keller only continues to see the bad and human cruelty there is and that then becomes his only perception of the world. "The thousands of stories of human foolishness and greed and cruelty that he had tried to patch together into some kind of understanding of his fellow beings" depicts Keller's…

Your diary made a prodigious impact on a numerous amount of people, including myself. It is ludicrous that the martinet, Adolf Hitler, would do something so truculent like that. It is a good thing that him and his followers were ostracized from society. The diary you kept when you were in hiding has affected a lot of people in different ways. First of all, it has informed many people about the life of a Jew in the depraved time of World War II. It shows how harsh it was for people if they wanted to stay alive in those times of apathy from the Nazi’s. It touches me how hard yall had to fight to stay alive in those cruel, cruel times. It is very blatant that this was a very depressing time for you, and all of the other Jews in the world during this time period. It wouldn’t be a great lifestyle to live cramped with another family in a small hideout.…

If everyone around you were being taken and murdered, would you have hope and courage to survive? This was the reality for Jews who lived during the Holocaust. The Holocaust was a genocide in which Adolf Hitler's Nazi’s killed six million Jews during the nineteen thirties and forties. Most Jews would hide and some of their non-Jewish friends would help provide them with the supplies they needed. This was true for Anne Frank, Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan, Peter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank, Dussel, and Margot who are all hiding together and being provided for by Miep and Mr. Kraler. During the Holocaust, you needed to have hope and courage to stay alive, in which Mr. Frank, Miep and Mr. Kraler, and Anne Frank actions all displayed.…
