“The Pride of Africa” RE: “Don’t let your company become the SHAME of Africa” Dear Mr Okwulehie,
I am writing to call for your urgent intervention in the asylum case of Mr
Nestor Na Bokwala N’djoli Bokuli 18/11/41 and Mrs Marie Louise
Likoka Bombito 28/03/46. (Case ref: B1176643).
Kenyan Airways Mission Statement claims that your company is committed to 'Corporate and Social responsibility' and your strap line “the pride of Africa” will no longer apply if you assist in this removal.
By being party to the removal today of Papa Nestor and Mama Marie to the DR Congo I believe you would not be being socially responsible in any sense, but would be complicit in any harm that would come to them.
Papa Nestor will be 70 years of age in November 2011 and Mama Marie is
63 years old. Their immediate family here in the UK fear for their lives if they are returned to DRC.
The Home Office Policy states that it is the decision of the carrier as to whether they carry people who are being forcibly removed.
In view of this I urge you not to allow Papa Nestor and Mama
Marie to embark upon the flight KQ101 on Kenyan Airways today
Monday the 11th of April 2011 at 20:00 hrs.
Since 2003 Papa Nestor and Mama Marie have been living in the UK and

have a loving and sustained relationship with their son and their daughter, their respective families, their 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild born on 29/03/11 whom they may never see if returned to the
DR Congo.
Having both fled the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) because of the persecution that Papa Nestor suffered due to his participation in political activities as an active member of the Union for Democracy and Social
Progress (UDPS) they sought and have been refused refuge here in the
UK.
Papa Nestor has also participated in various

In the “Letters to the King of Portugal”, Nzinga Mbemba, whose Christian name was Afonso, succeeded his father and ruled until about 1543. Afonso promoted the introduction of European culture in his kingdom by adopting Christianity as the state religion, imitating the etiquette of the Portuguese royal court, and using Portuguese as the language of state business. His son Henrique was educated in Portugal and returned to serve as West Africa’s first black Roman Catholic bishop. European firearms, horses, and cattle, as well as new foods from the Americas, became common in Kongo, and Afonso dreamed of achieving a powerful and prosperous state through cooperation with the Europeans. By the time of his death, however, his kingdom verged on…

We think that communism and fascism represented something new in history because they caused tens of millions of deaths and had totalitarian ideologies that censored all dissent. We forget that tens of millions of Africans had already died under colonial rule. Colonialism could also be a totalitarian – what, after all, was more so than a forced labor system? Censorship was tight: an African in the Belgian Congo had no more chance of advocating freedom in the local press than a dissident in Stalin’s Soviet Union. Colonialism was also justified by an elaborate ideology, embodied in everything from Kipling’s poetry and Stanley’s lectures to sermons and books about the shapes of skulls, lazy natives, and the genius of European civilization. And to speak, as Leopold’s officials did, of forced laborers as libertés, or “liberated men”, was to use language as perverted as that above the gate at Auschwitz,…

My conversation with my mother helped me understand how and why this young woman insulted Portugal and other countries before. She helped me realize how French people are... And it made me feel better about myself... If you know me, you'll know that I do love to complain, but imagine it twice as much. My mum actually laughed when she told me that she heard them complain about the economy, the way of living... In France, it's free to give birth, you have help from the government after you have more than 2 kids living under your roof, you have everything handed to you. It's insane how much they have while we are in America were everything is costly. In California, to have surgery you pay more than $1,000, in France, it's barely anything. And…
