Dear Sir or Madam ,
I am writing this letter to express my interest in Erasmus Mundus Master Programme in Mathematical
Modelling in Engineering for the 2015 Winter intake. I am interested in engineering since when i was a child. I was playing with my grandfathers soldering machine to modify my toy cars. Furthermore , I was selected from my class to attend the Science Festival in secondary school. As I grow up, my interest in math have risen. The main reason for this is because I believe that everything in the world has a math in it .And knowing and understanding math makes me feel like i can understand the world better.
Currently I am studying Mechanical engineering at Middle East Technical University , which is the best engineering university in Turkey. Obviously, in mechanical engineering almost every subject involves high level of Math in it. Studying in METU let me explore both theoretical background and applications of engineering and the math inside them. Also in METU i was able to use English in academic manner since the lectures were all taught in English . I want to continue my education with this masters programme because , this with this masters programme I can understand more complex systems , financial systems in a mathematical manner.
Also , I would be able to improve myself , since it , I believe , would be a challenge for me.
I have always spend enough time for extra-curricular activities , I have participated in universities
Music Club and Rowing team .Both Music Club and Rowing Team have improved my social skills and team work. Furthermore as a extra-curricular activity , I love travelling. I have worked in a lifeguarding job in USA for 3 months which was called "Work & Travel" programme . I was very comfortable with working with international people there .Furthermore i enjoyed learning and

The most significant extracurricular activity that I participate in would most likely be track and field during the indoor and outdoor seasons. I maintain a paid job and also help out at the local library, yet my experience as an athlete for Exeter High School has instilled within me invaluable time management skills, work ethic, and determination. Lettering all previous years I have competed, and being elected the team’s most valuable player last year, I work extremely hard on and off the track to achieve my goals. Balancing training with school can be difficult at times, but in a way I seem to work better having more on my plate. Receiving the scholar athlete award every consecutive season since sophomore year goes to show my greatly improved…

One extracurricular activity that I am extremely proud of is my involvement in Key Club International. If you may not know, no, Key Club does not make actual keys despite its name. Key Club is an international level service organization that helps provide opportunities for service to high school students. I started off in this club as just a member and honestly, I only joined because people had told me that it looked impressive on college applications. As I grew increasingly involved in the club, I began to realize that I loved serving my community. Giving back to a town that had allowed me numerous opportunities seemed only natural. I wanted to be involved in the organization as I could, and the fact that KCI is a student-run organization…

But for me, it’s a time where I can be myself. Math is involved in nearly everything in life. Whether it’s just simple addition when counting pennies or finding the perimeter of a newly built house. With math, you are able to learn how to do these certain things. Although it is confusing and difficult at times, I know that it will help me in the future. As it says in the article “What Can You Do With a Mathematics Degree?” by Laura Tucker, having a degree in mathematics can help in any career path. Math is also a big influence in my life because of what my dream job is; architecture. When I’m older I strive to be an architect, so math is very important for me to know - and know properly. An architect's job is based around knowing perimeter, area, length and all those types of things, which is what you will, at some point, learn in math. But math is not involved in just architecture. As it says in the article, “Math Career Resources” on University of California's website, engineering, pharmaceutical jobs and even jobs in the law career involve math. Therefore, no matter what job you decide is right for you, the chance is math will have something to do with it. Math has a very big impact on the…

My tendency toward Physics and Mathematics inspired me to look for a career as an engineer when I was at high school. Through many discussions with my uncle, a mechanical engineer, about vast applications and features of mechanical engineering I got that mechanical engineering would be the best major for me. So I selected it as my first choice in the universities entrance exam and achieved to enroll in this program at Sharif University of Technology with a high rank of 97 among approximately 300,000 competitors.…

first of all..it does require memorization, but youre not just memorizing facts. and there is often another way to figure a problem out if you forget a formula or something. youre not just memorizing things, like i said, but instead more like plugging them in. like, for example, while it is helpful to memorize the multiplication tables, you dont absolutely have to as long as you know how to multiply. like in social studies or something like that, you have to remember specific facts. if you forget them, youre basically screwed..but math isnt really like that. and it always makes sense. theres always a way to check your answer and make sure you did it right, not so in other subjects. also, i love logic and i like to be able to understand things..and like i said, it makes sense..you can always figure out why something is the way it is..they dont just say "thats just the way it is"...another reason i like math is because youre gonna use it at some point in your…
