Good day!

The Rotaract Club of Valenzuela Polytechnic College has been partner-in-service not only of our sponsoring Rotary Club (RC- METROVAL) but also of the VCPC Student Council and of our respective college ( VCPC) in general. Since its official formation on October 16, 2011, the club has strived to serve in our community with a number of joint community service projects and has acquired a number of achievements both in District and National level.

We would like to continue this long-term endeavor as we face the new Rotary International year with the theme: “PEACE THROUGH SERVICE”

In line with this, our

Bringing people together encouraging human unity is a gift. Participating in service demonstrates that a person cares for others. There is no measurement for service to society, it is what helps to make the world a better place. I provide service regularly at my church, City Of Faith Church Of God. The congregation inspires me to give as much of me to them, as I possibly can. Working at. The church food pantry brings me joy.feeding citizens who are without the basics, food, and seeing the look of relief on their faces is one of the greatest experiences. Additionally, preparing for the culmination of "Child's Month Celebration" has been a lot of fun. Designing the logo based on the theme of "Be A Winner and Join The Race" was a fulfilling role. As a nominee of the National Honors Society , my mind overflows with ideas of how we can serve in our community. Some tasks we can fulfill include visiting the elderly. I am certain that they would appreciate and enjoy us going to read and/or listen them. Helping to clean our school environment would also be a good use of our service. In addition, I believe that academic tutoring from members of the Honors Society to students at NFA, other schools in the district, and the public library would be very useful and effective. Our service is important and would be very effective in our…

Deciding which non-profit organization was difficult as there were many that influence the community in a fashion that I identify with and would like to contribute. Choosing RSVP was based on it being a volunteer program. Although it is a national program its local mission is to recruit, train and place volunteers at the local level. It provides volunteers that lead, inspire and change the world. The paper collects the experiences of RSVP staff and director, its station recipients and volunteers—who all have a unique experience in contributing to the organization and agencies that are directly changed by the volunteers which provide a service.…

Although being a leader of my school’s robotics team has not changed my career goals, it has greatly influenced my goals in the terms of community service. Since joining the team, I have volunteered for far more volunteering opportunities than I would have if I were to do them alone. For example, as team we have packaged thousands of nutritional meals for families in Central and South America. Furthermore, we have volunteered at other STEM related events in our immediate community. One of our larger service programs is the NXT Repurpose Project, which repurposes outdated robot brains, so that they are along with Lego robotics kits to less fortunate students across the world. So far, we have donated robotics kits to students in Ghana, Kenya, and Serbia. In June this summer, we plan to travel to Kenya for approximately two weeks. While we are there, we will personally mentor and teach students how to build and program robots one-on-one, so that they will be exposed to STEM concepts with fun! Finally, being a leader for my robotics team has pushed me to commit myself to serve my community locally and globally more and more. Therefore, my goals are to volunteer for Living Lands and Waters, the American Red Cross, the AmeriCorps, Engineers Without Borders,…

It has been almost a year since I joined Alpha Beta Gamma. The thought of belonging to an honor society excites me, from the day I received an invitation letter to this present day. I initially saw it as an opportunity to boost my resume, but now I see it in a whole different perspective. Honor societies are organizations intended to benefit and group like-minded individuals together based on academic excellence. However, Alpha Beta Gamma is more than just your average honor society. It is a place where intelligent minds come together to share ideas and provide services to the community. This means volunteering to assist certain organizations and businesses who request our help. Not only do we aid businesses, we also assist individuals by teaching…

At Lincolnton High School there is a limited amount of club activity going on, however, I reach out to all of the clubs to explore the opportunities they could provide. I have dedicated the most of my time and efforts to the school’s Key Club, the high school branch of the local Kiwanis Club. What originally drew me to the Key Club was its dedication to serving the people of the Lincolnton High School community. Quickly, I was enveloped in the various club projects and was then elected my junior year as vice president and then my senior year as president. The creativity I was allowed to pour into the club resulted in many positive influences in the community and opened new doors to future charitable opportunities.…
