Letter About Accident
Dear John,

Thank you for your letter, it was great to hear from you. I hope that you’ll manage your exams and make us proud. Remember, you can’t exaggerate because the stress will destroy you. So don’t overwork!

There’s no change in my life, but I have to tell you about one accident I witnessed. You won’t believe! Two weeks ago I was a spectator of a car race in Andora. One of the participants were our Polish sportsman Robert Kubica (27), and his partner Jakub Gerber (32). I was so excited watching the race when suddenly polish team crushed! All audience became silent immediately in anticipation for some official announcement. I felt terrible. My stomach was painful and I was unbelievably scared of bad news. And they came: Kubica has broken many parts of his body during the accident and was transported to the nearest hospital. He was operated by one of the best Italian surgeons but there still was a risk of a hand amputation. I burst into tears when I heard about it. You could cut the atmosphere with a knife, everyone felt dispirited. The one thing to be happy about was that Gerber was all right and Kubica was still alive. You should have seen a banger! All car was damaged. Some hours later we got to know that Kubica’s operation was successful and we came back home. It was such a strong experience for me. I hope that Kubica’s health will be getting better and better.

Well, that’s all my news. Do drop me a line soon.

Regards,

Once I got to the facility I was happy to see that some of my teammates from my club soccer team were training in the younger age group. As their training drew to a close I noticed they were crying. I was concerned and wanted to help comfort them and find the reason for why they were crying one of them told me “Larissa was in an accident, and she may not survive”. At that moment I had never felt so hopeless, not being able to help…

It has to take incredible courage to process a challenge like losing a limb in war. Stories abound from young men and women who stepped on a mine, or were ambushed, and their vehicle blown-up. For some, the moment is frozen in time and they cannot shed it. For others, they don't remember anything before waking up in the hospital without all their parts. To take in that realization, and then go on to perform as a star athlete is to this author, unimaginable. The incredible strength and perseverance to go on with life and then for some, to further demonstrate their zeal for life in their high level of participation in sports, is mind blowing.…

Injuries can be quite an experience especially the one that we consider to be life changing. The purpose of this letter is to show cause why my enrolment should not be cancelled. Due to my abysmal performance on one of my courses, I received a rather disappointingly low GPA this semester. Another issue I did not consider was the fact that I received a warning on my last semester (which dates back to 2009), it completely slipped my mind and I made the grave error of assuming that the slate will be wiped clean this semester. Nevertheless I am not making any excuses and I accept responsibility on my performance. I am normally a very diligent and hardworking student but due to a number of difficulties last semester I did not do well enough on PSYC1040. But rest assured that I have taken the necessary steps in overcoming those difficulties and I am very confident that I will do better and not fail again next semester and the ones after it.…

The family engages in high-risk activities that have led to many injuries and hospitalization. From the respondent’s perspective, the more the injuries, the better they feel, which was an interesting supposition. The respondent narrated how different family members, ranging from the father to the brothers, obtained injuries. However, one of the incidences led to the demise of one of the family members. A younger sister tried a stunt that led to her being hospitalized with multiple fractures. However, internal hemorrhaging and damaged organs complicated the treatment process. She went into a coma and stayed that way for seven months before passing away. The demise of this child was a big blow to the family and they tried to reduce their risky activities, especially for the…

Through all the broken bones I had over the years from jumping and diving I never once complained, I always aimed to finish. ‘’No one was going to wear my gloves!’’ I thought. My injury’s started with a broken arm. It happened at a practice but I brushed it off and was thrilled to play at Soccer Park the next day. When the ball hit my hand I would feel like screaming but I had no substitute and didn’t want to let my teammates down. I wrapped my arm and hoped for the best. The most recent, dramatic injury of my life was a shattered sesamoid. I was playing in the 1st day of a tournament when a girl stomped powerfully on the bottom of my foot. I continued to play although I knew something was wrong. The pain grew every second, I looked down to see the bottom of my cleat was shattered. I could barely move my toes but I didn’t give up. I played the 2nd day and the following week. Two weeks later my…
