Leonardo Da Vinci Influence
Leonardo da Vinci was an important leader in Renaissance Europe. He influenced both art and science significantly through his amazing intellect. Da Vinci was a painter, sculptor, artist and an engineer. He had an unlimited desire for knowledge and expanded the fields of science and art greatly. Leonardo da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452 in Vinci, Tuscany. At the age of 14, he was apprenticed to Andrea di Cione. He learned not only artistic skills but also technical skills like mechanics and chemistry. As he became older he qualified as a master of his guild, art and medicine. He worked in Milan as an artist and then Venice as a military architect and engineer. Both of these places were areas that were greatly influenced by the renaissance

Over 6 million people go to see the Mona Lisa at the Louvre every year. Da Vinci had an amazing talent at portraying light and shadow in his artwork, as well as physical objects and their landscape. He may have not be credited with the ideas of many inventions, but his sketches were the basis of many future inventions like the helicopter and parachute. He also created the armored car, the predecessor to the tank. Leonardo da Vinci is commonly considered “the renaissance man” for his great advancements in many fields. He was so curious about everything in nature and wanted to learn as much as he can. Most of his research and drawings did not become well known up until the Codex Atlanticus was published after his death, a book full of his research and diaries. Without da Vinci many of our greatest inventions would not have been created. Leonardo da Vinci was a true genius and inventor, making him the best description of a true “renaissance man.” The renaissance was a “rebirth” of Europe. Humanism was a huge topic, stressing the importance of solving human problems, and attempting to solve these problems, or at least understand them, is exactly what da Vinci did. He had an interest in so many different and diverse subjects, he truly embodies the renaissance
