Legalizing Prostitution

Prostitution is and has been illegal for a reason; it should be kept that way. They are an eyesore to corners of the streets, it promotes the spread of STDs, dilutes the importance of sex and women. The nuisance of creating a new law system and keeping up with the regulations isn’t worth legalizing it. Prostitutes around the neighborhood are an eyesore and makes the area undesirable. There are women sexually harassing men walking down the street, dressing and acting provocatively. Any combination, or even just one of these groups is liable to create an unsafe environment.
STDs can take up to six months to show on a screening; we can reasonably assume that prostitutes will not wait six months after every screening before serving another client for money. Also, even if prostitution becomes legal, there will still be prostitutes who will work “under the table” so that they don’t have to deal with losing money due to taxes. Therefore we will not gain as much economical benefit, nor can we depend on diseases not being spread.
