Legalization of medical marijuana at the federal law
Why should marijuana be legalized? Marijuana can be argued for different reasons. In my case I will be arguing the medical purposes for legalizing marijuana. Marijuana has positive features, and how people prefer using marijuana. Marijuana helps individuals get through a variety of things that they suffer. Marijuana provides relief from pain, rather than other medications out there. Many individuals prefer marijuana over anything else to relax. An argument on why people using marijuana spend more time in jail than actual criminals. So you can say the greatest risk of using marijuana is the risk of arrest. Marijuana should be legalized at the federal law for medical purposes. Medical marijuana should be legalized at the federal law for medical purposes because marijuana helps many people manage pain or illnesses. There is a lot of illnesses and pain that marijuana can treat. Marijuana does have side effects but what medication does not? Many people deal with the slight side effects and people who cannot deal with the side effects quit smoking marijuana. A problem in society is the federal law arresting people selling or smoking marijuana and giving them more years in prison than a rapist or serial killer. So what people are mostly scared of is the risk of arrest. Marijuana has positive effects on people’s health according to (AlterNet, 2007) explains that medical marijuana has positive features on many pain or illnesses. Some of these features of medical marijuana are the medical value and the mild side effects. The side effects are manageable and many people use it because they claim the drug is good for you, especially Americans suffering from a variety of serious conditions. Marijuana provides relief from pain, nausea, and other symptoms. Many Americans use marijuana because they choose to, one of their reasons is because it works and the side effects are manageable.
