The Cannabis plant has been in touch with man for many millennia, it grows nearly everywhere, it is extremely versatile and is a better alternative to many things - so why is it frowned upon in todays society? The plant is banned in most of the world because it can used as a psychoactive drug, but consuming it is proven not only to be completely safe, but it can also be used to cure a number of symptoms, ranging from nausea to anxiety, with almost no side effects. Not only can the plant be used as medicine, you can also use it to make cheaper paper, strong natural textiles, fuel and many more things.
The psychoactive part of the is know as Marijuana. It is the dried flower of a female plant. It is mainly consumed through smoking the flower, but it can also be vaporized, and even cooked into foods. The plant produces a number of chemicals, mainly made up of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the main reason for its medical, as well as recreational use. The use of marijuana can cure a number of sicknesses, as it is also a very potent anti-inflammatory. The “high” created by THC can eradicate anxiety, including depression and other psychological sicknesses.
The fibre of the Cannabis plant are some of the strongest natural fibre know to man, and can compete with some man made products, such as polyester and co. The fibre is mostly know as Hemp. The hemp fibre is extremely strong, soft and lightweight. Hemp can also be used to make cheap paper, replacing paper made from wood, and Hemp grows many times faster than wood, and the use of hemp products would cut down on deforestation greatly.
There are only a few minor drawbacks. People will use Marijuana recreationally, and it can’t be stopped, people will always find a way. But using Marijuana is less damaging than alcohol, and even caffeine. The only main side effect of using Marijuana is tiredness, which is actually good for insomnia patients.
