Michael Jordan is considered to be the most iconic person in sports history. Throughout his professional career Jordan built the blueprint to which all elite sports figures are critiqued. In 2002, a young man named Lebron James made headlines as he received the hype of being the next Michael Jordan. After Lebron's first seven seasons in the NBA, the similarities to Michael Jordan are striking, but a viable case could be made that the two basketball superstars are completely different as well.…
In the article “LeBron James: 4 Reasons King James Will Never Get Close to Michael Jordan” by Sammy Sucu, he attempts to explain how LeBron James will never be as great as Michael Jordan. He does so by using four attributes he believes make a player great in the NBA. These attributes include: On court demeanor, success, crunch time, and mental strength. He uses them to show how weak LeBron James is in these areas and how Michael Jordan flourished in them and became a legend. Sucu makes a decent argument that LeBron cannot be compared to the legacy of Michael Jordan.…

LeBron James and Kobe Bryant may play the same sport, but both have different perspectives on how they play the game. First off, Kobe has more experience in the game, compared to LeBron. Kobe began to play in the NBA (National Basketball Association) in 1996. Which makes him more experienced with the game and his team. Whereas there is LeBron who started his career in 2003. He may be lacking in years but, that doesn't make Kobe to be a better player. Kobe has his way of playing as does LeBron. Kobe prefers the “pick n roll”, as LeBron enjoys the “slam dunk”. Kobe is more defensive, as LeBron is more offense. No 1996, Kobe was everything. To being called the “Black Mamba”, to being known to have his shifty moves in like of the Great…

Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are two of the greatest basketball players to ever live. The way they play the game is memorizing. These two athletes are very extraordinary, though only one can be called the greatest of all time. The debate still and will always continue on who is the best. On one hand, there is the 6 time NBA champion in Michael Jordan; in the other there is the phenom who scored eighty- one points in one game, Kobe Bryant. In my opinion, Michael Jordan is and will always be the greatest basketball player to ever play the game. When I think of the word, "legend", only one name comes to my mind and that name is Michael Jordan. Even the president of the United States thinks MJ is the better choice. "Oh, Michael," the lifelong basketball fan told The Associated Press "I mean Kobe's terrific. Don't get me wrong," Obama said of the four-time NBA champion. "But I haven't seen anybody match up with Jordan yet". Michael Jordan tops Kobe Bryant in many ways, such as: offense, defense, and overall career achievements.…

The Kobe and Lebron comparison is now probably the biggest and most controversial talk in today’s sports news. Lebron can go to the hoop with authority, while Kobe is a sleek and flashy all around shooter. Although being two of the best players in the world they are very different in the ways they play the game of basketball. Though both Kobe and Lebron went to the NBA straight out of high school, and being two of the league’s best all around players who are lethal threats which must take an extraordinary game plan to defend. Lebron James was born December 30, 1984 in Akron, Ohio. He was a natural athlete and played football and basketball. He attended St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. He was a starter his freshman year for Fightin’ Irish. He was named Ohio’s “Mr. Basketball” his sophomore year and the first one as well. He also became the first sophomore ever selected to the USA Today All-USA First Team. In his junior year, his stats improved. He averaged 29.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 3.3. steals. and was named Mr. Basketball of Ohio again. He earned a spot on the All-USA First Team and was named the 2001-2002 boys’ basketball Gatorade National Player of the Year. This is where he got his nickname King James. He appeared in SLAM Magazine which began his nationwide exposure. However, this caused the team to be forced to move up to a higher division, Division II and lost its state title to Roger Bacon High School. He attempted to declare for the NBA draft after the season ended, petitioning for an adjustment to the NBA’s draft eligibility rules, which at the time required prospective players to have at least completed high school. The petition didn 't pass but his popularity forced his team to start playing and practicing at the University of Akron.…
He is an amazing player and that cannot be denied. Lebron didn’t even play in the NCAA, he jumped straight from high school into the NBA draft in 2003 which is pretty damn impressive. There is no doubt that Lebron is a great basketball player. He severely helped the Cavaliers while playing for them and his stats are up there with some of the biggest NBA names out there. His nickname “The King” is easily lived up to by James while sitting at the top with Robertson, Jordan and Bird in the history books for the NBA. He did make the Cavaliers work and help their franchise out a ton, so I guess the same could be true with the Miami Heat (Measurement). The week Lebron was to decide his signing Jill Seward from NESN said “The world’s most-talked about basketball player will sit down in an ESPN special titled "The Decision" in Greenwich, Conn., at 9 p.m. ET, and millions will be watching.” (Seward). Millions of people sat down…
