INTRODUCTION

This project work is intended for those who are interested in learning English with the help of new technologies. One of this technologies is the usage of authentic video for creation cross-cultural bridge and for formation listening and speaking skills, learning vocabulary and grammar. The aim of our work is to create an instruction on how to work with authentic video and to share our own experience on working with the British series “Extra English”. Working on the project we’re very interested in answering the following questions: Is it really useful to watch authentic video for learning vocabulary? What are the benefits of using this technology? Is it available for everybody? Do you need any special skills? The topicality of the work is determined by the importance and a perpetual interest of the problem of the usage authentic video in learning English language. The work starts with brief information about the description and classification of video materials and the importance of subtitles. Efficiency of the use of video resources in learning vocabulary depends on how efficiently organized and structured video lessons as coordinated training video capabilities with the tasks of teaching. The use of video improves the quality of learning English language , gives students a visual representation of life, traditions, linguistic realities of English-speaking countries and develops speaking and listening skills. The second part of our project is dedicated to British educational TV series «Extra English» which is specially designed for learning English as a second language and. The emphasis in made on the instructions on how to use the authentic materials while learning English language. We’re trying to show stages of the work with video, so you can learn foreign language by yourself and practice more at home. Each series contains a "teaching moment" in which the material is explained in terms of grammar - a very easy and convenient. After watching the series and learning spoken phrases, you'll be well enough to understand the English language and be able to communicate in English. All in all, we try to present the practical part of the project work with the help of “Extra English” we show our technique of working with the authentic video files. Proceeding from it, the objective of our research is to show the influence of video materials on the process of learning English language. The implementation of the objective mentioned presupposes the solution of the following tasks: to study literature on classification of video materials and stages of working with video; to develop classification of stages of working with authentic video materials; to create our own instruction on how to work with authentic video. Object of research: British TV series “Extra English”.
