If Cassie used her technical reasoning pattern more, it would have helped her with her writing. Using less words rather would have helped her put words to paper instead of trying to find the perfect words. If she used sequence, she could have emailed the instructor and ask for clarification. She wasted time trying to figure out what the instructor wanted instead of getting ideas. Also feedback is not failure, it is a tool to help us students grow.

I have been using sequence for school work lately, especially with discussions.I read the directions thoroughly to make sure I understand what is being asked is done. I found that I've don't jump around from assignment to assignment because I like to complete everything

    When I was reading the four stories from the learners in chapter three, I noticed that each of them used different patterns to write their papers. Makayla was one learner that used sequence first. She was very inquiring when it came down to what she was asked to do. Makayla needed to know too much and in this case it led her to have a duel and repetitious assignment. The advice I would give Makayla would be to field fit this, trying to focus using a different learning pattern or approach.     In recent years, the American education system has been focused on a “one-size fits all” system in which all students are given the same expectations and are graded on the same standards. A major criticism of this approach has been that all learners do not learn the same and that it is difficult to gauge student learning in a way that is effectively usable with the limited input methods, such as standardized testing, that educators use as measuring tools. In the article, “An Old School Notion: Writing Required,” Dan Berrett argues that a much more effective gauge of student learning which will ultimately better prepare students for the job force would be to use writing as a means of assessment. Rather than using cold, mechanized assessment techniques, Berrett argues that writing is unique because of the high visibility that it gives the learner and the interaction between tutor and student.
