ANALYSIS/ REFLECTION:

Lasting love is the story¬¬¬ of a woman who fell in love with the guy from their childhood until she was died. The story of love that lasts and never changed until her last breathed Love that compelled to the woman to do good for her beloved even without anything in return and love that waits and never become selfish. In the story, the author started through conversation that later on drifted to love. From the beginning of the story until the end it revolved in the story of a woman who fell in love with the guy until she died her love was still there. In the story the main characters were chair-mender the woman who fell in love deeply to a guy named monsieur chouquet. To present a model in the question about love the old doctor told the story of chair-mender. From this story the old doctor became the narrator and showed what kind of woman and guy the chain-mender and chouquet. From the lighted table the story took place from the childhood of the chain-mender until she met the guy and her circumstances and death. As we see the main theme of this story is sacrifice. It is always embodied in love, without sacrifice there’s no true love. This theme was evident in the action of the chain –mender who sacrificed all she had for the good of the guy. The old doctor who was the narrator narrated the whole story from the beginning till the end. We can also consider him as the minor character in the story. The conflict here was man vs. man, the chain –mender and the guy her love for him until her last breathed. The symbol that the author used to portray love was the money which means sacrificed and profit, the sacrificed of the woman to keep the money for the profit of the guy. As my reflection in the story it is evident that love never teaches wrong but always good. Love always sacrificed because without sacrificed there’s no true love. The good and perfect example of this love is our Lord because of love he sacrificed himself for our good to save us in our sins. And also it was shown in the woman who always gave all she had for the good of the guy she loved. From that story we will learn that it is possible to love many times but to love truly it is once only. These true loves we all know will last until death and never wait anything in return and always do well for our beloved. Love is sacrifice.
