Lake Konoplis
L is for Lost L is for lost. As you might know, this spring break I went to lake Konoplis with my Mom, Dad, and sister. It was very exiting, because this was going to be the first time we had ever stayed in a cabin. Lake Konoplis is right past the small town of Marquette. When we go to the cabin the first thing we did was unpack. Shortly we went down to a little fishing place we saw when we came in. We weren't having any luck there so we decided to go to a different section of the lake. At our new section we had an amazing time. This is were we got lost. My sister and I decided that we were going to explore the wooded side of the lake. There we were able to find frogs, and interesting insects. Then we got lost. Lucky for me I had waterproof boots on but she didn't so I went out into the lake to see if I could remember anything. …show more content…
The blanket that we laid out was the one that I just got for Christmas 3 months earlier. Well somehow an amber got out of the caged area and fell on my blanket, and now my new blanket has a new hole in it. That night we went back to our and got a good night sleep. The next day we went back to our spot and tried our luck once again. This time I just stayed in my chair and looked out into the pond. Unfortunately we weren't able to catch anything the whole trip. That night we went back to the cabin and started to pack up our things. The next day we started to load everything into the van and we headed out. On the way back we stopped into the town of Marquette. In Marquette we went into the Motorcycle Museum that they have there. In the Museum the had Motorcycles from 1950 to present day rare edition. Then we went in a little shop. I got a couple of pins and a old cigar box. Afterward it was time go make the 1 hour 30 minute drive back to North Newton. It was a fun trip and I hope that we get to go back once

It was going to be a short ride only about 4 hours altogether through the South Dakota mountains. About an hour into our ride, we reached the mountains and as soon as we did Brody, Eli, Maddy, and I rode our horses to the top of the mountains. When we reached the top of the mountains we got off our horses and looked out over the South Dakota scenery, it was a beautiful view. I have never seen a better view in my life. You could see so far since we were up so high in the air and when we looked down at Tommy and Cassie they looked like ants. After we took a few pictures we headed back down to Tommy and Cassie. We went a little further after we got down from the mountain and then we turned back and headed towards camp. We arrived back at camp we washed, fed, and watered the horses. When we were done with that stuff we made a fire and started carving on sticks for a competition we were having and then at about 11 we went to…

This trip wasn’t like the others, it was a vacation compared to the other high adventure camps. We flew down to Miami and drove to the base, which was in the Florida Keys. The next day we took two warrior canoes, which were canoes the fit about seven people in each, and paddled five miles out to and island where we would stay for the next six days. Instead of hiking or climbing mountains, our trip consisted of tenting out on an island where we fished, snorkeled and kayaked for the next week. My favorite part about this trip was relaxing in a hammock for hours watching the tides change. This was a dramatic change from my two previous summers of hard labor and exhausting hiking and canoeing; but it taught me that hard work pays…

We woke up on October 2nd at 5am and walked to school with all our gear, our tent, sleeping bags, clothes for the trip and all the other utilities we managed to fit in our backpacks. Once we arrived at school, we got into our designated cars and our journey began. Our first stop was a trucker stop where we enjoyed a delicious, finger-licking breakfast. Our second stop, was my favorite stop. It was the ghost town of Ransburg and it was everything you would think a ghost town to be old, empty, and spooky. We…

    Great Wolf Lodge Weekend

We spent most of the weekend at the indoor water park. There were two different slides where all four of us could ride in one raft. My favorite ride was the Howlin’ Tornado, which dropped riders into a six-story funnel in the beginning. Once you are through the funnel, it throws you back and forth up thirty feet on each side while spinning you around in circles. It was a real rush! We all enjoyed the Slap Tail Pond wave pool, which had three-foot waves every few minutes. We rode the waves on a tube for part of the time and then relaxed in the edge of the water the rest of the time. Fort Mackenzie was a neat four-story interactive tree house with two smaller twin slides called Totem Towers on one side. At the very top of the Totem Towers, there was a giant bucket that filled up with water nonstop. Once the bucket was full, it would dump 1000 gallons of water over the entire tree house and everyone around it. There was so much water spraying from every direction that it was impossible not to get drenched. It was fun and exciting to anticipate when the bucket would empty again.…

It was a cold snowy morning on the frozen shores of Lake Superior. I unloaded all of my ice fishing supplies from my truck and back my ATV out of the trailer. The ice was at least a foot thick by this time of year according to the people in town more than safe enough for the trip out on the lake. I gassed up my ATV and strapped down all my gear and headed out to my shanty. Trying to navigate in these conditions is very treacherous having only a general idea on the whereabouts of my shanty is would be difficult. Finally, the weather cleared for a few minutes allowing me to spot my shanty that was luckily still standing. I unlocked the door and fired up my ice drill which drilled through the ice like a hot knife through butter.I turned on my heater and waited for it to warm up which felt like an eternity in the frigid winter temperatures that hovered around zero and the biting wind outside made it almost unbearable. I waited for my father and his brothers to arrive with the…
