Lack Of Ambition In Shakespeare's Macbeth
Lady Macbeth's ambition is not for herself, but for Macbeth. Her actions and thoughts revolves around Macbeth fulfilling his desires. Although she had no ambition for herself, she fueled Macbeth to take drastic measures. Shakespeare’s portrayal of woman subjectively demonstrates that they are seen as a temptress. Indeed Macbeth was considering killing Duncan but stopped after rationalizing with himself . She was able to sway confused Macbeth to committing a horrible deed. Through questioning Macbeth’s manliness she was able to make him realize that he needed to take this opportunity. After reading Macbeth’s letter, her first instinct was to figure out what she could do to help him. She was willing to sacrifice her womanly compassion to help
