Labor Day Accomplishments Of American Worker

Labor Day became an official US holiday in 1894 as a way to mark and celebrate the achievements of American workers. Like many holidays, today it seems we cherish it because it gives us a three-day weekend and an excuse to eat greasy foods without regret and share in a cold beverage or two with our friends and family. The eating and drinking portion has been a staple of this holiday since it’s inception, so at least we are doing something right.
In this post I want to reflect a bit on why it is we work at all. There is a quick and easy reason: we need money to survive and working is one of the most accepted ways of acquiring money if you don’t already have an overabundance of it.
