Kurt Cobain Research Paper
Every year since the seventh grade, I have made a project about Kurt Cobain or at least incorporated him into it. I have read so many things about Kurt Cobain that every fact or small detail about him is ingrained into my head. When we’re assigned projects, my automatic first choice is Kurt Cobain. Kurt is my parachute as if I’m falling out the plane of high school, he saves me from the certain death of what I call an “F.” Every small detail about him is always in the back of my mind. If you ask me where he’s from, I’d instantly reply with “Aberdeen, Washington.” However if you were to ask me where he was born (and you meant the city), I would respond with “Gray’s Harbor Hospital.” A random fact? He had a kitten named Spina Bifida, which is ironic because he had Scoliosis. The only …show more content…
Sometimes I wonder if not being able to remember things I don’t care about will ever hinder me later in life. It probably will, but I like to think that it wouldn’t. I’d like to think that my love for drawing and my knowledge in math will get me a decent job somewhere, but those two things don’t go hand in hand. Yet, I am better off getting a better job with math than I ever will with art unless I die, conveniently, Kurt Cobain really became famous after his death, ironic right? Even more so, Kurt Cobain never finished high school and became famous with a form of art; the catch is he was never really famous until he died. So that leaves me with two, maybe three options: Write countless books and documentaries about Kurt Cobain; become a most likely low paid artist (which will be fun), but I won’t be famous unless I die a tragic death and my widower receives the benefits; and lastly become a high paid actuary who hates my job (that’s not too much of a menial task) but live a lavish and luxurious

The jokes get a little repetitive after awhile. Fallon has to stay with those jokes because he wants to stay true to the character the show has had for years. Conan’s show is more original because he started it instead of taking over for someone else.…

Many people are misunderstood and judged because others are viewing them like people view buildings as they drive down the highway, guessing the interior must represent the building’s outer shell. Tupac Amaru Shakur was one of many victims who faced discrimination because of his parents’ history with the Black Panthers and his misunderstood music lyrics. Before his death, he planned and constructed a school of arts in Stone Mountain, Georgia, which his mother, Afeni Shakur finished her son’s plan after his demise. My subject of choice is on my favorite band called Blink-182. I chose this artist because of the impact they had on my life as a teenager. Lets start off on who the band is and what they do. Blink-182 is a pop-punk band that was formed in 1992 and still plays music today; their members are Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge, and Travis Barker. When they formed in 1992 they sang songs of what life’s like as a teenager and the ordeals that teens go through. Their song “What’s my age again?” is about how getting older changes what your life’s like and what you can get away with, and there song “All The Small Things” was the depiction of love and not wanting to leave the one you love. One of the biggest impacts that Blink-182 had on me was in 2011 when one of my good friends, named Spencer committed…

Through the sentimental recount delivered by Steven Segerman “Sugarman,” the director manipulates the delivery of information to the audience to create a nostalgic, mystic feeling for a lost golden era and intrigue about the down and out poet-songwriter Rodriguez . At the beginning of the documentary Segerman talks about Rodriguez in the past tense saying, “we found out that he had committed suicide. He set himself alight and burned to death in front of the audience…it was probably the most grotesque suicide in rock history.” At face value this sets the audience up to feel sympathy and creates a dark aura of intrigue about Rodriguez. One might well ask, “who was this guy who died for his art?” However, it’s all a clever ploy. By withholding facts at the beginning, the audience sentiments are at the mercy of the director.…
