History Fair Process Paper
The Ku Klux Klan

For this year’s history fair, our group decided to do our project on the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). We chose this topic because it’s something the four of us are very interested in. The KKK were against people specifically because of their race or religion. That was a big issue in the past, but it’s still a problem we see today. That is why we wanted to focus on the Ku Klux Klan for history fair this year. This Klan was founded on things like racism, anti-Semitism, white supremacy and hatred. For our history fair project, our group wanted to find out exactly who the KKK was and why they would do what they did.

For our research, we looked up the Ku Klux Klan on the internet. We wanted to find out as much as we could about them. We looked up KKK rituals, customs and beliefs. We looked up what they did and why they did it. We also watched informational videos on the KKK and looked at pictures to get a good idea of who the KKK was. We also visited the official Ku Klux Klan website. We read a lot about this Klan. It turns out that as the years have gone by, there has been more than one Ku Klux Klan. Every time the Klan ended, a new one would start up so we looked up customs and beliefs of each new KKK.

Our group decided to go with a board for our presentation. We chose a board because it is more visual. We felt that that’s what would most get our research across to our audience. We created the board by placing KKK pictures on it, as well as facts about the Klan. The pictures show the Ku Klux Klan performing their rituals. One example of this is the picture of them burning the cross, or lighting it as they like to call it as a religious symbol. On the board, we also placed their logo and an application for the Knights’ party of today. The board also includes facts on how the KKK started, why they even started in the first place and what they do as a Klan.

The topic: Ku Klux Klan relates to this year’s theme: Turning...
