Kolkata Police Vacancy Details:
1. Sub Inspector (SI): 137 Posts
2. Lady Sub Inspector: 15 Posts
3. Sergeant: 684 Posts

Educational qualification: Candidate must have any Degree from a recognized university. Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali

Physical eligibility:
Male Sub-Inspector candidates: Height – 1.67mtrs, Weight- 51.5 kgs, Chest Measurement- Minimum 79 cms after exhalation and minimum expansion of 5 cms after inhalation (expansion).Vision-according to Health Manual

Lady Sub-Inspector Candidates: Height – 1.60 mtrs, Weight- 45 kgs. Vision-according to Health Manual

Male Sergeant in Kolkata Police: Height – 1.73 mtrs, Weight- 63 kgs, Chest Measurement- Minimum 86.36 cms after exhalation and minimum expansion of 5 cms after inhalation (expansion). Vision-according to Health Manual

Pay scale: The posts carry the Pay band scale of Rs. 7100 - 37600 + Grade Pay Rs. 3900 (PB-3), plus other admissible allowances.

Age limit: Not below 20 years and not above 27 years on 01/01/2012 (i.e. born not earlier than 2nd January, 1985 and not later than 1st January, 1992). Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC & ST candidates and by 3 years for O.B.C candidates of West Bengal.

Selection procedure: The selection procedure will consists of three successive stages Physical Measurement Test, Written Examination, and Personality Test
