Klaus Baudelaire And A Series Of Unfortunate Events
As a writer, I firmly believe in the value of fiction. Though this belief stems from not only the fact that fiction is my life, but from the way that fiction shaped me into who I am. As much as I love to create fiction, fiction has done a great deal to create me.
I've always been a reader and I think that it shows. The older and more comfortable with myself that I become, the more I realize that a lot of my favorite things about myself are the result of the books that I've read. For example, I feel like a good portion of me is made up of Violet and Klaus Baudelaire from Lemony Snicket’s “A Series of Unfortunate Events” not even so much their personalities, but in how they handled they're terribly unfortunate lives with such hope and cleverness.

I am not a professional reader, nor am I a professional writer. As a matter of fact, I don’t like writing at all, but then writing is a part of life. I was only 6 years old when I started to take an interest in reading and also started to learn how to read. My grandmother was a greater reader. She would read to me all the time and encourage me to read anything I could get my hands on. I would always see her with a book during her spare time.…

Books are precious pieces that improve one’s knowledge and help define one’s personality by relating themselves to characters within the text. As Vladimir Nabokov said in Good Readers and Good Writers “The reader should identify himself or herself with the hero or heroine.”(Nabokov, 973) I always believed that by reading a book you become one with yourself by somehow feeling all the problems of the characters and become completely absorbed in their world, therefore feeling like you have a purpose as you read.…

In today’s era, fiction novels and material can be found almost everywhere you look. Tabloids, news, movies, and many other media and novels alike thrive on fiction and the imagination it brings. Each person has their preferences on type of entertainment they like. Some enjoy strictly fiction while others like only factual novels and such, and some may enjoy reading both. But the thing to understand is why they do so.…

It is all about literature by imagination. If a story is as good as reality then it is a great story. A true fiction story can take you places without ever leaving, it gives you an experience where you can read and can’t stop.…

“We identify with those stories, we want to get lost in them, forget the world for a few minutes, or hours, or days.” People tend to read fiction books more because they are able to go into their own world for the time they are reading the books. The world would rather have fiction books, non-fiction isn't something that you could read all the time it would get boring. The readers need to know that without fiction many books they've read won't be readable anymore because there's so many of them. As technology evolves we will have to adapt our fiction-making powers, and discover new ways of making our own lives worth sharing and documenting. Fiction will allow you to make your own life and to write about it without having to put everything that's the truth. Readers will be more interested if you put fictional pieces in the book and not have all nonfiction truthful thing in the whole book. Therefore without fiction in our books it will be a hard time trying to enjoy reading in…

“Books are uniquely portable magic,” Stephen King wrote in On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft. I quite agree with this view. In retrospect, the genres of books which I read gradually varied as of aged. Additionally, those books which I have read, broadened my horizon and improved my comprehension ability to some degree.…

Reading is my life. It’s my escape from the world around me. I love getting lost in a story about monsters and myths, or a Cinderella gone wrong. If I didn’t draw as much as I did, I’d probably be the anti-social bookworm in the back, like in all those cliche teenage love stories. It’s actually quite surprising to see how many people dislike books, there’s nothing wrong with a little reading every once and awhile. But who am I to judge? I wasn’t a very big reader myself until maybe two years ago. Of course, that leads to the first reason why I enjoy reading so much.…

“A book is a gift you can open again and again,” wrote Garrison Keillor. People read all the time. They read for information, for escape, for entertainment, for instruction, for guidance. They read recipes and tweets and texts. They read newspapers, blogs, and Facebook replies. In a recent survey by Pew Research, the number of people who actually read a book in the past year was 72 percent in 2015. I am one of those. As I consider my reading experiences, I realize they represent the journey I have traveled, leading me to my current academic path.…

Although there is much I can’t recall from my early days of reading, there are some momentous flashbacks. When I was beginning elementary school my parents were very eager to introduce me to doing a great deal of reading, they wanted me to enjoy reading for a while and they succeeded. We lived within walking distance of the public library which allowed us to frequently visit the library to read and check out books. I always remembered the vast shelves of books that seemed like they never had an end. In addition to reading at the library we checked books out to bring home to read, this allowed me to read as much as I wanted to. Correspondent to the amount of reading I did, the more I enjoyed it and improved at reading.…

I love to read because of my mother. When I was young I disliked reading and preferred to watch movies instead. To get me to enjoy reading my mother would read stories to me and I would read along with her. One day my mother read only classic books from our houses to San Antonio, Texas. We read Little women, Great Expectations, Treasure Island, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Ten Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, plus more. I remember how her voice made the words on the pages come to life. She would very her tone for each character and made each one unique. It was like watching a one man play. I soon wanted to read the stories by myself because I was always in a rush to know the ending; reading to myself was faster than my mother reading aloud to me. Every time I read I can still…

My Math teacher made a difference on my reading life. He always had good books to lend me. My appreciation for reading increased with many books he suggested. I’m very glad he was in my life to help to develop my reading skills. Although, I had to learn a new language when I moved to United Sates. I still enjoy reading. My favorite books are the fiction books. I still enjoyed the feeling of traveling to different worlds and be part of adventures. If a book has a kingdom, king, historical pieces, new languages, weird people, villains, and a hero, that it will be a book I’ll…
