Epilogue Scene for The Crucible
After John Proctor died, his wife had to take care of the kids and it was hard explain them what happened to their father. Many years passed and Elizabeth started to get sick, so she told the kids everything that happened before and how their father died. The kids got really upset and asked Elizabeth where Abigail lives so they could go and kill her for what she did to John Proctor, but she didn’t know where she was living. They ask everyone in Salem where Abigail has been all these years, and only an old lady told the kids about where Abigail was living since she saw her leave Salem.
They went to look for her at the place she was living and they had a conversation:
Abigail: Who are you guys?
Older son: We are looking for Abigail Williams
Abigail: I’m Abigail Williams, how can I help you?
Older son: We are John Proctor’s kids, and we want to why you killed our dad
Abigail: I didn’t kill John Proctor! I loved him and I know he loved me too
Older son: Why did you lie to everyone in Salem saying that there were witches?
Abigail: I didn’t mean to harm anyone, I’m sorry
Older son: Then you will have to come with us to Salem and tell everyone the truth
The kids and Abigail went to Salem; she told judge Danforth the lies she made which hurt many families in the past, but now she came to Salem again to receive her punishment for lying and letting innocent people die.
She receive the death punishment which was dying the same way John Proctor died, the kids were happy that now justice was going to happen and that Abigail was going to pay for everything that she had done. Elizabeth was not happy about the decision of killing Abigail, she knew that Abigail hurt her a lot but that didn’t mean that her punishment was dying.
At the day Abigail was going to be killed, Elizabeth didn’t let Abigail be killed and she explain her reason which was killing Abigail wasn’t going to bring John Proctor back to life or any of the other innocent

    Abigail’s villainy is significant because it helps the reader become familiarized with the environment of Salem Massachusetts, the Christian religion it thrived off of, and how these combined ultimately caused the witch trials. The people who practiced this intense Christianity had no spiritual method to relinquish guilt for their sins. In turn, this led to the people of Salem having to find their own outlets for their guilt. In Act II of the play when Elizabeth is anonymously accused of witchcraft, she automatically associates Abigail saying that “[Abigail] wants me dead” and “I knew it all week it would come to this” (Miller 60). Abigail’s lust for John and jealousy of Elizabeth motivated her to lie to achieve her repressed desires. As the accusations keep spreading around the town, even Proctor comes to realization that Abigail “thinks to dance with me on my wife’s grave” (110). Abigail’s lust for John takes the accusations to extremes where no one is safe, and Abigail’s unchallenged dishonesty gives her free reign over the outcome of the trials.
