King's Landing Junior High School Case Study
Due to your decision of shortening our morning bell in exchange for a longer lunch is an irrational choice because we as students of King's Landing Junior High School think it’s unnecessary towards our lunch break.

In hopes to make your final decision, we have some reasons on why we feel this way. One thing is that students don’t tend to wake up early enough, which would cause them to be late to class all the time and then cause them to miss a lot of classes if you add up there all the minutes they missed. Another reason on, why not to shorten the morning bell is they would fall asleep in class a lot, which wouldn’t be good for the student’s work habits.

As a student of King’s Landing High School we have some suggestions on what you can

On March 7th, 1980, two high school freshman were found smoking in the bathroom at Piscataway High School in Middlesex County, NJ. The students were escorted to the vice principal Mr. Choplick’s office. The defendant, TLO, who was one of the students that were caught smoking denied the accusation. Mr. Choplick inspected TLO’s purse and found a box of cigarettes. Afterward removing the box of cigarettes, he saw a pack of rolling papers. Mr. Choplick suspected that a closer examination of the purse may yield evidence of drug use and that a thorough inspection would be needed. After a thorough search, he found a small amount of marijuana, a pipe, a number of empty plastic bags, a large amount one dollar bills, an index card with a list of who…

Two years after being created in 1864 the school opened its doors with McFadden Alexander Newell being its president. Unfortunately, these practice schools were often across town because of space limitations.…

Welcome students and teachers. Today I wish to speak to you about the controversial issue that is currently being debated in our school: Should we consider Friday as a part of the weekend and in turn extend each of the remaining school days by two hours? There are many points supporting this change, but overall this change will not be beneficial for the students' futures. As it is, we students already feel as if we have almost no time within each day for personal matters. I will present points that will strengthen my argument and show why we cannot allow this to happen.…

Carolina High School, located in Greenville County, was established in 1956 as a 9th through 12th grade public high school. In 1995, the school was chosen to be a magnet school where at its peak had a student enrollment of over 1300. When the needs of the community changed and local mills closed, the dynamics of the community changed, dropping enrollment down by several hundred students. By 2000, the average family income was just above $22,000, where a little over 9% of the families were reported by the 2000 Census as earning less than $15,000 per year. Due to the changes in the surroundings of the school, the school suffered from great challenges. In a location stricken by poverty, the enrollment in 2008 was a little over 700 students with over 80% of the population being minority and served by the free and reduced lunch…

The Laguna Beach High School’s Administration has incinerated the GPA of its incoming class of freshman. The horrific news came out after the administration decided to demolish the weighted honors credit of a 5.0 instead of a 4.0 for certain classes. Making the new incoming class of 2020 feel abused by the system. The main reason the school drop the weighted grade is because of the UC and USC colleges drop all honors credit classes. Also, how students feel required to take certain honors classes to become valedictorian. The decision was originally implemented for the honors Algebra II. During this school year in the late fall, the district, said that the class of 2020 will not have any weighted classes. The only weighted classes would…

Do you feel like school should be started later in the morning? Well, the school should start later. Instead of school starting in 6:30, maybe it should start at 8. If schools delayed the start of the school, communities will have reduced tardiness, sleeping in class, accident rates, improved attendance, and higher test scores. School starting at 8 will most likely decrease the number of students falling asleep in class.…

Starting School Later A big topic in the news right now is students, especially athletes, not getting enough sleep due to a combination of athletic practices and events, homework, and family activities. Having to get up at six o’clock is already extremely challenging, but it becomes even more difficult when students have enormous day ahead of them, including school, practices, homework, and anything else needed to be done. Starting school later would be the perfect solution to this, and would give all students a chance to sleep later each day. Sleep is necessary for proper brain function, and is needed, especially for high school students, to maintain proper health.…

The first bell for most high schools in Australia generally sounds at anywhere between 8:30 and 9:00am. This has always been the case, but is this actually causing teenagers more harm than good? Many studies have proven so, which is why I firmly believe that the school day should start later for high school students. Even starting the school day an hour later than the current start time will, in several ways, benefit students enormously. Students will inevitably achieve better grades, their health will be improved in the long run and this change will generally be more convenient for themselves and their families.…

Schools should start later, because children and teens don’t get enough rest as it is, and they do not need the extra struggle of getting out of bed. For instance melatonin messes with teens sleep patterns. Schools that start later statistically do better as a whole. If schools started later, it would give students a chance to have a proper breakfast. Here are the reasons why schools should start later.…
