The top of this ad consist of a black background that seems as if he is in a room with a beam of light coming from the top. As my eyes moved toward the middle of the ad, I noticed the beam of light hitting Manny Pacquiao in the corner of the ring holding onto the ropes. The ropes are red, white and blue with a red turnbuckle. Pacquiao seems to be praying or meditating about a fight. He is wearing red and white Nike shoes and white trunks with a golden eagle design and “Pacman” written on the sash of his trunks. The way his arms and the turnbuckle are positioned, it looks similar to Jesus Christ on a crucifix even more when you notice the beam of light coming down from the sky. This would imply that Pacquiao is praying to Jesus. The quote “Give us this day” located on the bottom of the ad is also an excerpt from the Lord’s Prayer, which provides proof that Pacquiao is praying. In this ad, it seems like Pacquiao is implying he is saying give me this day because he knew the odd were against him and he was going to be fight against an undefeatable boxer. Doubts occupied Pacquiao’s mind which is why he went to the Lord for help and guidance for this fight. The last item on the ad is the date 12.06.08 which symbolizes the day of the fight against Oscar de la Hoya meaning that is the day that Pacquiao wants “given.” The main advertisement of the ad is Nike because not only was the Nike logo written on the bottom of the ad but Pacquiao is wearing red and white Nike shoes.
