Parents should not be giving their kids money for doing chores around the house whether they are behaving well or not. Kids should not have to be told to do chores around the house. It should be something they just do. If kids would like to be financially responsible they can get a job during the school year or quit sports. As soon as they grow, up they can start buying their own items and then learn how to manage their money and stay financially stable. Kids can find out how to become financially responsible later in life.
