Kids under 13 shouldn’t have facebook

Recently kids under the age of 13 years are starting to join a social network named “facebook” .Facebook and a child is a bad idea. Do you believe that kids under 13 should be allowed to have a facebook account?
My brother with just 11 years old has a facebook account, when I was 11 years old I didn’t know what “Facebook” was. I just knew a program on computer named “Paint”. Playing outside of my house was the best thing on the world. I remember my childhood with a big smile on my face. But now is not the same, time has changed. The Magazine Consumer reports that the 7.5 million kid that are under the age of 13 uses Facebook illegally with fake birthdays. Kids under 13 shouldn’t have facebook because giving out personal information is dangerous.
Kids are unaware of its dangers and can easily become prey. Parents try to protect their children from explicit contents and on facebook that is impossible. How can children so young be expected to be prepared for what they might found? It’s always, the case that when you tell kids they can’t do something, they will try only the harder to do it. Some parents though might be rather pleased that their kids have found an activity that they can pursue in relative peace and solitude, “Facebook”.
The idea of facebook is fantastic, but facebook itself is often abused and children are the weakest and most easily influenced members of society. Kids are young, and so are their minds. The 56% of the concerns of parents with their child’s facebook use, is because the sexual predators.
Kids are not prepared for social networks, like facebook. They are young and they are not enough mature for taking precautions. Giving out personal information is dangerous not only for them, for their family too. Therefore, we should be protecting them where protection is needed and possible.

When social networking websites were created in the 20th century they were used as a way for people to “stay connected and share with friends”, and they provided others with “a place for friends”. Pre-teens and young adults were drawn to these websites and they began to use these sites to communicate with each other. As the popularity of the social networks increased so did privacy issues. The online article “Why we’ll never Escape Facebook” James Cowan states, “Facebook changes privacy policies at whim, makes it difficult to control personal information and hoards users ' data.” Because of some of the recent changes in the privacy settings some of the sites users are becoming the victims of cyber bullying. Cyber bullying is affecting many school aged children and it is the responsibility of school administrators to ensure that the technology within the school is not being used for cyber bullying.…

Most of my generation didn’t have a Myspace or Facebook until about the age thirteen or fourteen. Now parents are creating them for their two or three year olds and allowing them to play games on it with their friends. This one consultant from London, Leisa Reichelt, writes “Can you imagine a Facebook for children in kindergarten, and they never lose touch with those kids for the rest of their lives? What’s that going to do to them?” The problem with this is that the amount of teasing or even bullying could greatly increase much more rapidly. The parents will hand over their tablets and ipads and eventually the very young children actually begin to chat with friends or even random people. On top of this, children as young as four or five are getting cell phones to talk to their parents and few close friends. But where is your five-year-old going that you wouldn’t know about or be with them for? The younger generations are already starting to carry the same issues the older generations have and will become more addicted and run into more problems. When kids are younger, even though they don’t think of it at the time, they make a number of bad choices that usually fades away and doesn’t affect the rest of their lives. With having so much access to technology, though, younger generations will start having drama with other peers sooner and could post something that they will later on end up regretting. Parents aren’t always around to be monitoring what their little ones are doing and therefore have less control of their…

Children cannot take all the responsibility of having social media accounts. Children agree on terms that they don’t even fully understand. In social media, children will be exposed to different ideas that they may not also understand yet. We know that children follow what adults do. Children can learn from other people. People add information to their own profiles to make them interesting. They do these without considering the risks of doing so. Children wanted to be cool too and follow what other people do. Children are giving information to the public and sometimes it would be too much that it breaks their right to privacy. Sometimes, out of children’s illiteracy, they share their password with other people. I even experienced it when I was still in elementary. My friends and I exchanged email addresses and passwords just for fun. Then I realized when I was in high school that passwords are not to be…

Over the past few years, development, growth and use of social media has been on an upward trend growing into levels that were not considered possible just five years ago. It is quite difficult to define and classify social media appropriately, but several categories can form a broader classification. However, what defines any of these classifications is that these websites do not just give information, but they interact with the user. Social media has also been adopted for use by people within all brackets, with the young people forming the bulk of these users. Some social media sites like Facebook already have more than eight hundred million users, and the number is fast increasing. This leaves many wondering whether today 's is social media is appropriate for children (Matson 19).…

Another great issue of concern with social networking web sites is that of child safety. Research has shown that almost three out of every four teenagers who use social networking web sites are at risk due to their lack of using online safety. (Joly, Karine, 2007) A lot of the web sites do have an age requirement but it is easily bypassed by the lying about of one’s age. Even if they don’t lie about their…
