Keziah Goddard Persuasive Speech Analysis
For this assignment, I chose to look at Keziah Goddard persuasive speech video. I agreed with her video that she chose because I agree with everything she said because I sometimes wear weave myself. There are so many people in this world who doesn’t like weave or just simply like to judge those with weave or wigs. In her speech she showed us some weave that she had bought for herself. She gave plenty of opinions on why she likes weave and why others don’t like weave. It seems as if she was very comfortable with recording the video because she didn’t really mess up any of her words or had the look on her face where she didn’t want to do the video. Keziah had plenty of reasons to support and understand her topic. She explains how society

More than 97% of climate scientists agree that we, humans, are causing climate change by burning fossil fuels and cutting down trees. Too bad trees don’t provide us with Wi-Fi or money, we’d be planting them like crazy, unfortunately, however, they only provide us with the oxygen that we breathe. There shouldn’t be any debate about whether global warming is real or not, we know its real, there’s numerous evidence to support that, instead it should be what we’re going to do about it.…

    Bobbed Hair Essay

There has been so much controversy over the bobbed-hair craze that I feel I ought to put some of the world right, as to my side of it at least. I do not claim to be the first person to wear bobbed hair; in fact, I believe there are a number of people who, like myself, picture Joan of Arc with shorn locks! There have been several periods in history when women wore short hair. It is easier to be the first person to do a thing than the first to introduce it, and I believe I am largely blamed for the homes wrecked and engagements broken because of clipped tresses. I do not wish to take the blame, because in a great number of case I find the responsibility…

Persuasive speeches have been the most challenging speeches in this class for me. The goal is to influence the belief of an audience, convincing them to choose a side. The first persuasive speech I done I was nervous for some odd reason. When it comes to informative speeches I can talk a lot, but it’s different with persuasive speeches. Gaining the attention of the audience enough to persuade them is the major key to a good persuasive speech. Speech 3 was the longest persuasive speech being four to six minutes and it seemed to be the longest. With persuasive speeches, you want to provide the audience with enough information so they’ll be able to choose a side, most likely the side you’re arguing for.…

Being confident in the way you were created is something I love to portray, which I have been doing since I was in middle school. It being with a decision I made during the last three weeks of my 7th grade year. Every young black boy at the time had the same hair cut (including me), which was an Afro. Being different was always bouncing around in my head, so one day out of curiosity I told myself I wanted to get dreads and I got them after I easily persuaded my parents. When I got them I wasn’t all that excited about them, but I keep them knowing the reason I was doing it. I was mentally prepared for the positive and negative comments I would be getting at school from now on and I promised I wouldn’t let them get to my head. The next day at school it was worse then I thought it would be. Everybody was calling me worm head and saying my head was small like a walnut. Majority of the people at my school didn’t like it and said I looked uglier but a handful of people including myself were looking into the future and seeing a very bright one if I keep them. Having a lot of confidence in myself I didn’t follow the crowd and take my dreads out. I set out on a new road and till this day I have had my dreads for four and a half years and there almost half way down my back. After they started to get longer people looked at them a different…

Being over 40 years of age doesn't mean you automatically become out of shape. This all too acceptable in our nation. Countless times have I heard the comments "I'm too old to get in shape" or "I'm too old to have a flat stomach". Most of my clients, when they first come to me, can't look down and see their feet. I usually ask them "What happened? Why did you let yourself get out of shape?" The responses I receive vary but the general consensus is that life took over. I interpret this as working long hours, raising kids, eating poorly and not making time to exercise. I'm grateful they have reached a point where they are fed up with the way they feel, look and have decided that enough is enough. I've been a personal trainer for 8 yrs and I am 41 yrs old.…

PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a psychiatric disorder that can occur following the experience or witnessing of life-threatening events such as the military combat, natural disasters, terrorism incidents, or any major tragedy. This is common in the life of veterans and is the leading cause of suicide among veterans. A VA patient who survived in Baghdad shares his experience with PTSD and explains how he knew he had this disability. Many veterans speak out about this issue and describe their continuous anger, alcohol addiction, and constantly wanted to fight. They usually feel very isolated and distant from their loved ones. One patient states, “PTSD involves rocketing into extreme states of stress re-activity; in the form of terror, rage, and uncontrollable impulses, and plunging into equally extreme states of being shut-down—exhaustion, emotional numbing, despair, and dissociation”. PTSD is about having fear and anxiety, allowing veterans to rage with anger and different emotion. There are many factors to PTSD, which affects others in different ways; or example, using video games to keep them occupied, spending money due to the lack of impulse control because of changes in their brain, and even not obtaining another job.…

Attention Getter: I would like to start my presentation off by telling you all to ask yourselves a series of fairly straight forward questions. I want you to take a look at you’re, any hand and ask your selves “Who’s hand is this?” Do the same with your other hand, and now both legs and your arms if you would like. If I am not mistaking the answer to all your questions are mine right. They are your hands, legs, and arms. What I am trying to get through to you all today is that your body is your body and that a person should be able to profit of his or her own body if done in a safe and controlled way.…
