Child and mother arrived at the hospital at approximately 5:00 a.m. to register for outpatient myringotomy surgery. Mother registered 3 year old child and was escorted to pre-op surgery area for further processing. Mother signed consents; child was gowned and assessed for surgery, i.v. and pre-op medication given. Mother informed pre-op nurse that she would be leaving while child was in the OR and would be returning once child was out of recovery. The modern media is the principal source from which we hear about international and national issues that are going on in our world today. Although the media is a potent source of information, not everything reported is necessarily credible or factually correct. Many factors such as what region of the world the media source originates from and who is reporting it cause there to be bias in what we read in newspapers, online articles, and what we watch on television. In many countries, for example Iran, the government controls the media, causing certain facts to be left out and others included as the government sees it. How biased the media source is relative to the background of the country reporting it and sometimes even their perception of the other country as a whole. All of these factors ultimately lead to the bias we see in modern historiography. In recent news, newspapers from the United States, Taiwan, Qatar, and Israel report on the recent Syrian anti- government protests, during which seventeen protestors were killed. Each source puts its own twist on the issue, or in other words, its own bias. Often, it is only by comparing news sources from countries both in the same region as Syria and those on completely different continents can we truly pinpoint the bias and differences in how issues are reported.…

I can’t come to school or go to work without listening the international news. Every morning, rather than getting something to eat for breakfast I turn on the TV and flip through the channels between CNN, BBC or Aljazeera to watch the news about Syrian civil war. The Syrian civil war is an ongoing conflict that’s happening in current time. The problem started in early spring of 2011 within the context of “Arab spring” protest and nationwide demonstrations against the policy of the Syrian government. Although the United States of America has a policy of intervention and involvement in country like Syria, they should not do it because it could increase the civil war even more, it could make even more people immigrate and it will save the lives…

Love our Heritage event has ended at 4 pm and we together had tidy the place where the event has been held. All the equipment that we have borrowed from Pusat Adat dan Warisan (PADAT) are arranged nicely inside car as it is to be returned on the next day. Although we feel so tired to handle this event, but overall we are extremely glad because our mission and objectives of the event was successfully achieved. The mission that we want to achieve is, with this kind of event it can help to foster the spirit of love for traditional heritage in Malaysia among teenagers. What can be seen now, generation Y and generation Z are almost forgotten about their own custom and heritage. To bring this event into reality, they can look back a little bit about custom and tradition that was being popular in the past. By providing information and equipment such as traditional clothes and traditional games of Malay, Chinese and Indian hopefully it can give a picture of the beauty and originality on heritage and culture in Malaysia once upon a time ago.…

This fall I attended the University sponsored fair. At first I was apprehensive about going but once I learned that about one hundred dollars from everyone’s tuition goes to these events I decided to make the most of my money. The fair was far from what I expected there were games, coasters, food and shows, all this for free. I played in the carnival games and won a purple stuffed animal for my girlfriend at the time. Then my group of friends and I went of to riding a electric bull. I got thrown off after a number of seconds but was one of the coolest things I have tried. It was one of the things on my bucket list and I completed it at the fair. There were also amazing roller coasters that took you into the air and spun you 360. Going to this event was a lot of fun it makes you feel like you are a part of the college a part of the family in unity. I didn’t get to attend much of the events but after this I regret not being able to go. I highly recommend everyone to go to at least one event. This fall I attended the University sponsored fair.
