Shortly after the internet explosion of the 1990s, technology was immediately integrated into the classrooms. Technology, even though symbolizes advancement in human knowledge, was seen as a setback by many educators. Many efforts have been established to help educators realize the benefits of technology and ways of implementing them in the classroom. Many different types of technology can be used to support and enhance learning. Some examples of technologies used in the education system are video content and digital movie making, laptops, computers, and handheld technologies. New uses of technology, for example, podcasting and tablets are constantly being created. Many students are growing up in a digital age where they have constant exposure to a variety of media that is impacting on the way they interact and use information.
Technology has certainly changed the way we live. It has impacted different facets of life and redefined living. Undoubtedly, technology plays an important role in every sphere of life. Several mundane manual tasks can be automated, thanks to technology. Also, many complex and critical processes can be carried out with ease and greater efficiency with the help of modern technology. Thanks to the application of technology, living has changed and it has changed for better.
With advances in technology, student study habits have dramatically changed. It's affected the way classes are taught, students learn theories and the way information is presented. Gone are the days of slaving over books in the library and scribbling down notes on paper.
As the world becomes more complex, the skills that students need to acquire and master are quickly changing. The rise of the global economy, an increasingly multicultural society, and rapid changes in technology require students to learn and apply new skills in their academic and career endeavors. Students need to learn to communicate more effectively, both through speech and the written word. They need
