President: Sisters, in the bonds of Kappa Kappa Gamma, we are assembled to welcome as alumnae these women of ___________ Chapter who stand before us.

Realizing that the ties that bind us do not end with college days, we come together as alumnae, to strengthen and sustain our friendships while reaffirming ourselves to this Fraternity. What you found within your chapter experience, you may find as well as you participate as alumnae on an even broader plane.

Upon taking our vows of membership within Kappa Kappa Gamma, we pledge ourselves to the ideals of and purposes of this Fraternity. Through loyal service as alumnae, we endeavor to preserve these ideals and purposes so that others who come after us may have the opportunity to share

Society often dictates that men are incapable of establishing meaningful relationships or that college men are not focused enough to make a difference. This is far from the truth. An organization such as Phi Beta Sigma proves that men can form relationships that are meaningful, productive and invigorating.…

Why do I want to become a Lambda? I’ve asked this question to myself at least ten times. And every time I come up with a new answer. But there is something common among all those answers. It is the Brotherhood. For example, I attended the IG retreat in Tallahassee. I am aware that I am only a member of the interest group, but the brothers that attended the retreat made me feel different. I felt as if I am in the middle of a family. A family that cares and will always look out for me. They made sure that we had everything we wanted and we got home safe after the get together.…

This semester my brothers and I have participated in multiple community service experiences, but what I particularly would like to speak about is a service that I am currently putting together. This service would involve my fraternity brothers and I volunteering time on Saturdays at the New Orleans YLC. What we would be specifically task with is going and spending time with kids in an underserved area; playing sports with them and just fellowshipping with them. We are having our first orientation this Wednesday February 17th. From that date on we will…

Upon assessing the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority house at the University of Iowa, it was determined that stress management and time management were the top two health concerns for the girls that lived in the sorority house. This was determined by using the Checklist of Health Promotion at Worksites survey (CHEW) and a Needs and Interest Survey by Welcoa. Eight total needs and interest surveys were dispersed between a total of 36 members. This group of 8 was thought to accurately represent our target population of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority members between the ages of 18-21. To analyze the Needs and Interest Survey data, the average likeliness to attend each of the 13 different program topics was recorded and plotted on a bar graph.…

A lot is required from someone to be considered a gentleman but it is not hard to posses all of those things. I aspire to be of a character that embodies a gentleman and goes beyond those parameters so that I both respect everyone and am respected by everyone. I aim to become man of Sigma Chi who not only embodies the ideal of the fraternity but can give back and add on to the code by which members of the fraternity live there lives each and everyday. For it is a gift to be part of such an organization of Sigma Chi and thus I must work to better myself to embody Sigma Chi in both character and person. In order to accomplish this I must live everyday with honesty, fairness, respect and so much more. I must exemplify these ideals in every manner of myself; whether it be in school, in sports, in my fraternity or daily correspondences I must uphold these ideals. That means holding the door open for any women, having academic integrity, treating others as I wish to be treated, giving any opinion despite my own beliefs the respect it deserves and also that I will conduct myself, in the presence of others, in a respectable, appropriate way at all times. But more importantly, I will exhibit all of these traits when no one is looking because that is when the true test of character comes into play. It is one thing to act as a gentleman when others are looking but another when you know no one will know or give credit to you for your actions in a certain situation. I will make the right choice in such situations for as I said, I aspire to be a Sigma Chi and that means that in no instance are these morals and values ever not supposed to be represented and professed by my own character and actions. I will do my part to exemplify this creed in Sigma Chi and my own life.…

My name is Tevin Hamilton. I am from Topeka, Kansas. This semester I will attend KU for my first semester of my sophomore year. I attended Barton County Community College on a tennis scholarship last year. Last year should have been a great opportunity for me to improve my game as well as improve my grades in the classroom. Unfortunately, my coach was reprimanded for athletic misconduct; he would skip my men's practice after personally instructing every girl on our women's tennis team, which I thought highly discriminated my teammates and I. Honestly, I never thought I would come to the University of Kansas or even think about joining a fraternity. However, after talking with some of the brothers in Sigma Pi I feel like I would fit right in. Sigma Pi seems like a really great opportunity to not only socialize and enjoy my college experience here at KU, but also join a brotherhood, make friends I will have for the rest of my life, and become a part of something very few people have the opportunity to do.…

One of the bad things about fraternities is that they are very much related with alcohol and binge drinking. According to Kent State's newspaper Daily Kent Stater, Susan Goetschius, the spokeswoman for Alfred University in New York, a pledge of the Klan Alpine was "put in a trunk of a car with a six pack and a bottle of liquor and [was] told to drink." The student was found dead later at the fraternity house. This isn't an uncommon occurrence, either. This is happening more often than you would think. The Daily Kent Stater also tells us that researchers found that the number of students who they have found to binge drink and also get low grades were more likely to be in the Greek system than the ones who were not involved in the Greek system. There are numerous stories and reports about students dying because of alcohol poisoning. These fraternities are known for their drinking parties and their "keggers". People would only assume that's what you would do if you're going to a fraternity, and so it continues. Some of the smartest people in the world were Greek while they were in college, so it's not seen as a bad thing. Look how they turned out after all. Martin Luther King, Jr., James Dean, Harry Truman, Ronald Reagan, and John F. Kennedy were all Greeks back in their…

Delta Zeta has a set of high standards, which is why they runs of five key values, like empowerment, personal growth, community involvement, and lifelong friendships. The first value being friendship, this is where the sorority begins when we promise ever-lasting friendship. She loves to be involved and meet all of their members, she sees the importance of sisterhood and has always been involved with ways to make it stronger. She goes out of her way to meet with the new members of her Chapter; she also loves to host activities like dinners and beach trips with sisters. Learning is another big part of Delta Zeta. Learning is the highest priority of…
