The conquest of Jerusalem
Mass deaths amongst you people, just as when sheep die in large numbers during an epidemic
Abundance of wealth to such an extent that if a person were to be given a hundred Dinars he will still not be satisfied
General anarchy and bloodshed, that no Arab household will be spared from it
Then a life of peace as a result of a peace agreement between you and the Banil Asfaar (Romans) which they will break and attack you with a force consisting of eighty flags and under each flag will be an army of twelve thousand men."

Several religions have their own beliefs and ideas of how the end of the world will take place. Some may have ideas of fire, abduction, disappearance, or sudden non-existence. Other religions may have the idea of a second coming of Christ, or a new beginning and a new start for the human race all together. However, in some religions, the ideas of how the end of time unravels may be distinct from each other. Some creatures or figures may come to the world and begin destruction. For Protestants, or believers of Christ, they believe in one myth about the end of the world, which is the beast.…

When money is a factor of any situation, it can become the root of all evil and lead to the destruction of many. People will go to great measures to become rich regardless of anyone affected along the way. This is why many people turn a good thing like having a lot of money turn into a horrible thing like being worst off than before their wealth. After winning the lottery for example, the ruinous trait of greed is commonly seen in the character of a lottery winner. They become selfish and excessive with the desire of having and buying more with their winnings than they have or necessary. Once the winner is publically established, strangers know who the winner is and begin to hassle them for their money. Not only is the greed of strangers a winner’s worry, even their own family and friends feel that they deserve some of their money. As a result, money causes the impulsive desire of the need to greed and the spending of more than people are worth resulting in their bankruptcy.…

The little short film on the site titled “Stille Post” or the telephone game made a little impact on how I view our world today. They start off the film with Miriam the little girl basically picking on Paul, the only colored kid in the class, by saying that Paul never washes, and passing it to the next person. That person then passes that little bit of information to the next kid, who passes it to the next kid, and so on. So this group of children could of just kept the rumor that Paul never washes going around until it was whispered into Paul's ear. One kid in the circle changes the rumor from Paul never washes to Miriam is in love with Paul. This film shows that picking on other races and bullying can be stopped at a young age, one kid from that class stopped the ugly secret and made a funnier one to sort of get back at the little girl. Rumors can be spread so easily in our society and people can put a stop to it by changing the rumor to better the person the rumor is about.…

“It seems only natural that happiness should flow from having more money. Even if they don’t admit it, people still behave as though it were true. More money means you can have what you want and do what you want.” (Dean 2008). Wealth and possessions do not equal happiness because no matter how much money and gems you have you can not buy feelings, but only comfort, also if you are working hard for more money you are experiencing more stress and negative emotions.…

Abundance creates a power hierarchy in which those skilled and/or corrupt in economically controlling positions influence the social structure more so than any others. And while power in the hands of the wealthy may be a good thing in some instances, in such individuals as Bill Gates who supports charities, by and large it does very little to benefit the greater good. Capitalism is a system that “tends to devour everything which stands in the way of increased profits”39 and anything and everything “is defenseless before the interests of a deified market, which [has] become the only rule.”40 The unceasing appetite of “materialism and frivolous consumerism go hand in hand with spiritual poverty.”41 It is this vicious cycle that prevents us from being able to recognize that “human beings are destined for an end that transcends mere earthly existence”42 and that we “are ‘constitutionally oriented toward ‘being more.’’”43 God has through his grace given us many blessings, including the abundance brought about from capitalism, and it is paramount that we recognize that it was God and not the economic…

In reflecting on my own heart of darkness I was struck by the realization that it may too be greed. As I have learned from that capitalist nation of American, one cannot be happy and poor at the same time. They are opposites: rich equals happiness. Nonetheless, I have also had the dictum "service for others" pounded in my head by the Jesuit community. I have learned through my Christian roots that happiness comes from within, not without. But, I am still haunted by the America idea that irks me to obtain riches to be happy.…

In a society where resources are not evenly distributed, there is always going to be the wealthy who have an excess of resources.
