Judaism

Judaism is a practiced religion throughout the world. Even though it is a very old religion, Jews are less than one percent of the world. Judaism is one of the oldest monotheistic religions and the oldest one still practiced today. Majority of the Jewish population lives in Israel however the other half live in the United States, and a small percentage live in Canada. Judaism has a unique history and unique biblical stories. The original temple also played a large role is the founding of Judaism, which then Rabbi’s interpreted. Since everyone does not agree with certain people including rabbis, there are different sects through the religion. Jews live every day basing their beliefs on the Torah, the bible, or the Old Testament. Every year holidays repeat themselves, yet they are very meaning to every Jewish person.
Moses is a very large factor in the creation of Judaism. He received the Ten Commandments on Mount Sani, which were the guidelines to the new monotheistic religion. The Hebrew bible is recorded in the Tanach. The Men of the Great Assembly compiled the Tanach. It has not been changed or reworded ever since god’s creation.
The Tanach was broken down into parts where people especially high ranked Rabbis interpret the Tanach into another book, the Talmud.
The Book of Genesis is the written understanding world creation given from God. Some commonly known stories are, the creation, Adam and Eve and Noah’s Ark. God created the world in six days and the seventh day After the command to become “fruitful and to multiply”. Noah’s Ark was created because of all the terrible slander spoken amongst the Jewish people. Because of sin, God decided to punish the people by having it rain for forty days and forty nights. After the famous story of Noah saving him and many paired animals, God demands Abraham to visit the land of Canaan. Abraham listens to God’s requests and tries to fulfill his requirements.
