Why did I enroll in Jrotc?
If you were in middle school and you see some crazy guy in uniform screaming would you choose that class or not? I chose that class because I didn’t want to be as every other high school student and just show up for 4years and then graduate. But the real reason that I enrolled in JROTC was because I want to be different than every high school student and you learn how to become a leader.
To begin with, the first reason that I enrolled in JROTC was because I want to be different then every high school student. JROTC has truly been a blessing in my life. JROTC has helped me stick out from the crowd because most high school student do not like being told what to do. Also they do not like wearing the uniform but I take pride in it because when I grow older I will join the army because of the great amount of influences that I had in my life from my dad to LTC Harrell. When people see my down the hallways they ask me do you like that class? And I always reply the same thing “OF COURSE!!!!” To continue, another reason that I enrolled in JROTC was because they teach you how to become a leader. Become a leader is truly a never ending journey. You will have to adjust to every situation that is thrown at you. A very successful college basketball coach that took JROTC was Coach Mike Krzyzewski. Also becoming a leader will help you in life forever till you die. If you do not know how to lead and they put you in a managerial position then how will you respond to that situation?
So all in all, the reason that I enrolled JROTC is because JROTC was because I want to be different than every high school student and you learn how to become a leader. But if all high school students enrolled in JROTC the graduation percentage would dramatically increase because of the mental and physical inspiration it gives us.

At a service academy, the people that attend are there to get an education and train to be an officer in the military. They are there to gain valuable life and military skills. In my opinion, that is more appealing than any college. I want to surround myself with people that have the same goals and aspirations as me, and I believe that the Academy can provide that. During the week that I was at the Air Force summer seminar, I learned about life at the Academy. I knew going into that week, that I would either love it or hate it. Throughout the week I spent time doing physical training, going to classes, and learning about life at the Academy. After that week, I knew I wanted to attend the Air Force Academy. The training I endured it helped me build character. I love to travel to new places. The best part of the army is making friends that you will never forget and that they will never forget you more than a friendship it’s a bond tight as family, you would put your life on the line for one of them as you would your own blood.in the army You are generally accepted by everyone, and you are willing to die for your battle buddies. I love it, but I had that kind of friendship on the outside, and knew when things got silly, and understood this too shall pass. The benefits I receive made it well worth the occasional sacrifice. Some of the benefits are full time employment, money for college, free health care, Learning new skills, and the pride of knowing you are serving your country. While in the Army I earn decent money, 30 days’ vacation a year, and was eligible for numerous benefits for my service. While on active duty in the Army I received what is called basic pay. I get paid twice monthly on the 1st and the 15th of each month. While serving in the army, l was taught self-discipline and how to live independently. Self-discipline and the ability to successfully live independently are two things that all parents wish for their children. The army is the perfect place to learn how to become independent and self-driven. From day one at basic training, discipline is instilled in every soldier.…
