If one does not know the qualities, behaviors, and struggles of students with dyslexia then how is it possible for the to identify it of their own. Before watching the movie Journey into Dyslexia, I felt as though I would not be able to identify that a student is dyslexic on my own. This movie has helped me better understand the struggles that students have with this disability. I feel as though every teacher should watch this documentary because it teaches so much on not only the characteristics of the students who have dyslexia, but it trains our minds to sympathize with students who struggle. Just because a student cannot grip a concept does not make them dumb. If every teacher was educated on what exactly dyslexia was, then I feel like many more students would not have to struggle with the things some of these students did in this video.
