Journey Home: Long Ocean Trip To Ellis Island
The Journey Home As I imagined immigrant life was dreadful. From the long ocean trip to the unwelcoming arrival at Ellis Island .I feel that immigrant children had it the worst not being like other children. In addition I will be telling you more about the ocean trip.
The disastrous ocean took a little more than six long months. This trip seemed even longer than it was because of the disgusting features of the boat. On the boat was over 300 people but the ship only had 2 bathrooms. Diseases were common amongst the people on the ship. Storms rocked the boat causing sea sickness. In addition there were also the troubles of Ellis Island.
When arriving in Ellis Island America wasn’t “the land of glory” as the immigrants expected. They were treated
