The Curious Traveller.

If you only had a certain amount of time to live, would you live every day to the most of it?
Well that’s what I have to do. I turned 40, 4 days ago and a week ago I was diagnosed with cancer. I was told I only have a few months to live. This is when I decided I had to make the most of the next few months; I decided I wanted to travel the world. I have 2 daughters, Tahlia (12yrs) and Molly (15yrs), I also have a son, Chris (16yrs). My husband was there when we were told the bad news but I didn’t know how to break it to my kids. It was just so unexpected…

I received a letter in the mail on the day we were leaving to go on our journey. It gave me all the more reason to go… it looked as if it was written years ago; all crinkled and written in calligraphy. It has a residential address; and contact information, but it has no name to it. Maybe I should visit them? Take the letter with me and whilst I’m over there I should just pop in and trace back on who it is. The letter has a lot of information and stories about my family and the writer keeps apologising for not being there for me when I was little. I wonder if it’s a family member. Who could it be and why would I only just receive it now? I have to go visit them in France; I want to know who it is! As I said I have to make the most of my last few months so I might as well do what my heart is telling me.
Well it’s time we make our way to the Sydney airport ready to fly out to Spain. The kids are so excited but curious as to why we are travelling; just like I’m curious to track down this letter. Hours and hours have passed and we have arrived in Spain, it looks so amazing here! I can’t wait to explore… this is the best idea I’ve had in a long time. A taxi took us to our luxury hotel and we got settled in then it was time to hit the streets to look around. We are staying here for a week then we are moving off to France. The weather is beautiful, just like a hot summer’s day. I could get

Upon arrival, Seth and Jenna greeted their friends as they entered the room. Various beverages were freely available throughout the house. Everyone was doing it, so they joined in on the fun as well. Varied thoughts about the night flashed through Seth's head here and there, but who was he to stop now?…

As Fin walked along the street the leaves of the oak trees shone like patches of blue velvet, but when he stopped still nothing shimmered. The waves refused to move. The glow of the city still seeped into the morning sky, forever. He felt he must be dreaming, and yet he was sure he wasn't dreaming because everything felt so real. Surely his brain was not powerful enough to create such a masterful illusion. Or was it? He felt his head imploding just trying to figure it…

About noon, on the fifth day of their journey, Charity told Uriah to stop the wagon. Looking around, Uriah did not see anything in particular that caught his attention and did not know why she wanted him to stop; as far as he could tell, there was not anything they needed there. And, his mother had not gotten off the wagon to go do her business or said anything about eating lunch. So, after bringing the horses and wagon to a complete halt, he turned to Charity and asked, “Why did you want me to stop?”…

My creativity is like a roller coaster. At the beginning of my life I was riding the roller coaster of my creativity up a very high hill. This was the time when I was just starting to figure out how everything worked and what creativity ment. I found I could express myself through a crayon and piece of paper. I was drawing everything that made me happy. My family was what I mostly drew at this point, because my happiness revolved around them. As I got further up the hill the track kept getting steeper, because I was learning about my creativity very fast. I even started drawing what made me sad, like my best friends getting mad at me or my dog passing away. I could tell my mom how I felt without saying…

Fighting temptation describes a battle that is as much spiritual as it is emotional or physical. To be tempted is not a sin. Everyone is tempted and at different levels. Even Jesus was tempted! Temptation happens when the opportunity is presented to do what we know is wrong, whether against God, ourselves, or others. Being tempted is not wrong - it's the decision to do wrong and the corresponding action that follows.…

Coming into English 090 was something I was not looking forward too. I assume who wants to repeat a course already taken, even though I board line passed. However, to me a passing score was a passing score. In high school and even in some college English courses never served as my strong point, I would always find myself confused and frustrated. Many of the times I did not understand why I did not get the grade I thought I deserved. Immediately, I notice I was not getting the grades I believed I deserved and I just simply stop trying. Afterward most of my assignment I would write without much thought put into to them, just to get them out of the way. When I write my essay, I never allowed myself to connect with them; until forced to repeat English 090 in a different college.…

This year I decided to interview Mrs. Jackie Hammers, the choral director of our Jr. High School. I have a love for music and she was a very inspirational teacher when I was younger, so I felt the need to ask her about her job. Mrs. Hammers is like I said a music teacher, but to be more direct she teaches 7th grade general music and is the choral or vocal music director at the school. Her daily routine consists of the following, taking attendance and watching the morning announcements before class starts. Then she teaches 3 periods of general music, then she finally gets to have her half an hour choir rehearsal, which you have to audition to be a part of. Then she teaches another period, then off to lunch! After lunch she plans her criteria…

If you choose to write a narrative, it should be a story in which either you or someone you know well was actually involved. You should avoid stories that simply recount accidents. What I mean is this: a good story needs to have the element of choice in it. If you describe an accident, you need to show that decisions led up to it. This story should be about people, about the decisions they make and the consequences that follow.…
