What I think was responsible for the group’s grade of “D” in the case study are quite many. In the first instance, the team did not work together. The team work was nil. I will start with Anthony. Anthony made himself the leader of the group without any body appointing him. He assumed the leadership on his own He was boss, garrulous, and he felt he knew more than any of the other team members. He barks out orders and this irked the rest of the group. On the day of the presentation, instead of the three having the exact topic they would defend, Anthony wanted to defend the whole theory, and even went over Sylvia’s topic. He is not a good leader, because a good leader would at least involve every other members of the group, and he would guide his team in the right direction. On the contrary, he misguided the team. However, Donald is one of those group members that no one would like to have as a member in a group project. He has a non-challant attitude about the project, and he neglected his own duty, and did not participate in group meetings. He left the whole project to just Anthony and Sylvia. However about Sylvia. Sylvia should have been more assertive. She played the role of an underdog, and this really affected

During this class I have made two self- discoveries that will positively impact my career goals. Those self- discoveries has helped to mold, and shape me into a student that I have never thought I would be. Those discoveries were that I am an organized learner, because I made a study plan to help me determine when, and how I would study. Being that I have five children, I had to make sure that I had set a schedule so that my course work including study time would not affect my family time and take away from spending time with my children and fiance`. Since these are the competing priorities in my life right now learning to obtain trust and consistency in the home while I have been attending school has also improved because not only do I see my success so does my children and fiancé. Knowing that I had that support also has made it possible to do my best in school, setting the pace for them to do the same in school also, whether it be good grades, sports, etc. I know that they will continue to be good at what they do and have proven to do so time after time.…

“Within the diamond haze of the beach something dark was fumbling along. Ralph saw it first and watched till the intentness of his gaze drew all eyes that way. Then the creature stepped from mirage on to clear sand, and they saw that the darkness was not all shadow but mostly clothing. The creature was a party of boys, marching approximately in step in two parallel lines and dressed in strangely eccentric clothing." (Golding 1954, Ch.1, p.19)…

    1. After Huck writes the letter to Miss Watson, he recalls the time he spent with Jim on the river. He also recalls their friendship. This remembrance of their friendship with Jim leads him to listen to his conscience, and he decides that he would “go to hell” if it was necessary to protect his friend. Twain uses irony here because Huck believes he would go to hell for trying to save Jim. Twain is showing the "backwardness" of the south because Huck is being a good friend to Jim but Huck has a weird feeling that he will suffer due to this kindness.…

I think reflection in this course has been the one component that sets it apart from any other math class I have taken. Even Math 105 last semester had a lot of reflection and the reflection aspect of both classes was incredibly helpful. I have never actually thought about math before. Usually I am just taught they formulas and how to use them. It was rare that a teacher really showed me why a formula worked. In this class, I was challenged to really think about what I was learning and how I would teach it to students so that they would truly understand it. I think reflecting on what I did each week was a great way to insure that I actually remember what I learned instead of forget it all by the next semester. In the presentation, I really liked the quote “A journal becomes a place where you can dump all your daily frustrations and joys, without fear of judgment and criticism.” This seems great to me because I know teaching can be a trying profession. There will be days wen I will feel horrible and frustrated. I think these are the perfect times to have journals. It enables you to get everything out of your system without having to tell an actual person what you are feeling. When you are dealing with kids, people can sometimes be overly judgmental when you feel frustrated about your students. Another part of the presentation that I thought was great was the part that talked about using a journal to write down the funny things a student did or said. I love to hear about the odd things I used to say and do when I was in elementary student from my old teachers. I want to record things that I think my students will like to hear about when they are older. Overall, I really believe having a journal and reflecting on your day is such a positive thing. Not only does it provide a stress relief, but reflecting on the details of your day is supposed to have great effects on your memory as well.…

Theories of Decision Making The Rational Comprehensive Model The rational comprehensive model is based on the reasoning of economists, mathematicians, and psychologists. It assumes that the decisionmaker can identify the problem, that the decisionmaker’s goals, values, and objectives are clear and ranked in accord with their importance, that alternative ways of addressing the problem are considered, that the cost and benefits or advantages and disadvantages of each alternative are investigated, that alternatives and their consequences can be compared with other alternatives, and that the decisionmaker will choose the alternative that maximizes the attainment of his or her goals, values, and objectives. However, problems are not always clearly defined; problems have to be formulated in a way which enables people to make decisions about them. Decisionmakers must have vast amounts of information in order to make use of the rational comprehensive decision-making technique. There needs to be an ability to predict the future consequences of decisions made. Also, problems confronting decisionmakers often embody conflicting values. In addition, it is tough to ignore the sunk costs of former decisions, these may foreclose many alternatives. Moreover, this model of decisionmaking assumes that there is one (unitary) decisionmaker, when in fact a great many people, interests and institutions are usually involved. The Incremental Theory Attempts to correct deficiencies of the rational comprehensive model and to better describe how policy decisionmakers actually behave have resulted in incremental theory. Incremental theory holds that the selection of goals and objectives is intertwined with, not distinct from, the scientific analysis of the problem. Decision makers only consider alternatives for dealing with a problem that differs marginally (incrementally) from existing policies (suggesting that they do not completely remake policy every time they make a policy decision, but…
