In the dystopian world, we find that many aspects of Josh’s personality are the same as in the normal world. Josh seeks power and always wants to be the leader and he always seems to get his way by intimidating, belittling and pressuring others. This happens in both the real world and the dystopian world. An example of this happening in the dystopian world is when Josh savagely cuts Skinners arm with a knife, just to prove what he can get away with. “…he began to drag the sliver of glass along Skinner’s arm…‘Now in your world…would I be able to do this?’ He pressed harder. The line along Skinners arm increased, centimetre by centimetre.” –Pg. 59. Josh performs this vicious act knowing that being Skinners gang leader means there is nothing Skinner can do to stop him, because Josh has that kind of power over him.…

This can change a person’s behavior or personality, which makes up the identity. To further explain, each character has lived through experience that they never thought they would. The boys from Lord of the Flies have landed on an island where they have committed murder. This experience definitely gives a new point of view. When they did get saved and they got to back home, they will always have these moments in their mind. They will remember what happened on that island and this will definitely switch their lifestyle. In Twelfth Night, the outcome is less negative and more positive. Because Sebastian may have gotten in a fight, but he did win it. And he got beautiful wife. Viola got melodramatic husband that she loves. So being mistaken for each other may be annoying but thanks to that mistake, they got to live happily. For as long their marriages will last. Lastly, in Everyday, it's saddening to know that A has gotten a few 16 year old kids in trouble for a girl. That they knew they could never be with for longer than a day at a time. This resulted in them gaining the beliefs that they could potentially have a life of their own. In a body they could have for longer than a day. It is horrible to think that for A to learn how to stay in the body for longer they will be taking the life of someone else. But in their perspective it's a good thing because they have suffered every day from not having a family, or friends that stay with them. They have changed from who they were in the beginning of their adventure of meeting a girl to someone that’s living for themself and acting on their own…

In the beginning of the story, the narrator is nothing more than a curious child on vacation. As time goes on he is soon to find the realization that life is no longer the same. No longer is the narrator a child but is now and adult and gains the responsibility of being a father. In shock and curiosity of where the time has gone, he soon finds himself back at the scene he remembered as a child. His curiosity is evident in the quote "I wondered how time would have marred this unique, this holy spot". Shortly after arrival however, he finds that time has not changed the setting as much as he would have thought. This is evident in his quote "when I got back there with my boy, and we settled into a camp... I could tell it was pretty much going to be the same thing as before". The narrator notices some slight changes on the way such as technological advances and changes in the soda that goes around but not anything significant. The real change is encompassed in the fact that he is no longer playing the role of the child, but is now playing the role of the father. It is an eye opening event when he realizes that he is almost reliving his experiences through his son's.…

If someone wants to get a point across to a wide audience they must appeal to people’s emotions, logic, or show them that they are credible. In the book The Other Wes Moore the author tries to show his readers that any decision made could change a life in a positive or negative way. Throughout his book, Wes Moore compares the lives of two boys with the same name, growing up at the same time, both in bad neighborhoods. He examines these young men and tries to show when and why their lives changed for better and worse. People cannot choose their living conditions or who their parents are, but Wes Moore shows how the decisions made today can change a person’s future for better or worse. For his audience, use of pathos is the best way for the author Wes Moore to inspire his readers to listen to his purpose of this story and make a change in their lives. To further support his book the author appeals to the audience’s ethos and logos but they are minor in comparison to his appeal to pathos.…
