During further investigation of the crime it revealed that she was indeed hit across the head with an object, but it did not kill her; she later died from strangulation according to the swelling on her brain. It is believed that the rest of the scene was staged. It is just awful that someone would want to torture an innocent little girl, because records show what the strangulation happened about 45 minutes to 2 hours after she was hit in the head. Also during the investigation, the investigators had the family’s handwriting tested to see if their writing matched the ransom note; even…

The crime was committed by someone inside the home. But because of investigators relying too much on DNA, there is no evidence that necessarily points to patsy, John, nor Burke.…

This was a rather catchy song. While I’m not typically a country music fan, this song got stuck in my hard for far longer than I care to admit. The chorus of the song sees Chris Knight repeating that he was framed for the murder of his wife’s presumed lover. I might even have believed that he was framed, except for the section where he states that the “man took his wife, he was hell bound. Even if he did shoot him down, I was framed.” He attempted to justify his actions by blaming the shooting victim and saying that he wasn’t the only one to blame for the situation that occurred. This song is a rough parallel to the OJ Simpson trial. OJ Simpson was accused of killing his wife, Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman. Prosecutors unsuccessfully…

My topic of research is based on cases involving the convictions of those who provide accessory to (through legal or illegal substances) and direct murder. I will look at two high profile cases to compare to a local case that involved a death caused by an overdose of Heroin. The two cases I plan on comparing to the local case are those of Charles Manson and Jack Kevorkian. Manson was found guilty of First Degree Murder, Kevorkian was charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance, and our local defendant was charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance Causing Death. I plan on analyzing a local Denton case in order to give a plan for both the prosecution and defense side. I also plan on answering:…

February 26, 2012 marked the day that the innocent minor, Trayvon Martin, was shot to his death in a gated neighborhood in Sanford, Florida. The shooter, George Zimmerman, still has not faced any serious consequence for the murder. Many people in the Sanford community, and even around the country, believe that there is no question that Zimmerman should be convicted and sent to jail, but, unfortunately, it is not up to the people; it is up to the justice system. With the consideration of Florida’s state laws, this is a difficult case to foresee the outcome of George Zimmerman’s conviction and prosecution.…
