John Connor's Home-Personal Narrative
John Connor was zealous about the vacation they were taking to San Francisco. His family rarely went on vacation and he couldn’t wait to arrive there. They were in the car and John was visualising the whole trip and how it would play out. Although John felt excited there was something that made him feel that this vacation wouldn’t go the way he expected. Around the same time Marty McFly and his family were trying to relax after an eventful few years. It was 1993 and it was all behind them. The vacation was the perfect way to let it all go. They took their new car, the DeLorean, and a friend, Emmet Brown. They were so relieved to be on vacation that they didn’t even notice that somebody had messed with the controls on the DeLorean. Little did they realize this would be the last time they ride in the fabled car. …show more content…
The first thing John and Marty wanted to do was go to the pool. The parents of each were skeptical at first, but let their kid go anyway. They saw each other and they didn’t know each other, but somehow felt like they knew each other their whole life. They started to talk to each other and started to realize something, they were brothers. John never knew his mother and Marty’s parents seemed to fit John’s description of family exactly. Marty then started to tell John about his adventures in the future in the DeLorean. John was fascinated and asked Marty if they could go to the future now. Marty started to say yes, but then thought his parents would be mad, so he said no. John was about to protest, but he had another idea. The idea was to find the DeLorean and take it into the

People always strive for perfection, yet constantly fall short. Flannery O’Connor presents life as that of unredeemable pain, and that humans are simply organisms who are violent contradictions. Flannery O’Connor’s stories often feature characters that are similar in many aspects, facing different situations. “A Good Man is Hard to Find” and “Everything That Rises Must Converge” depict much of what O’Connor is famous for in the literary world. Through the use of theme, style, and symbolism, Flannery makes it clear the powerlessness and impotence of humans and the insignificance of their desires, dreams and pretentions.…

“Ugh!”, he grunts from how large the suitcase is. “Will you be able to carry that, Scottie?” she says, her face, worn from time, twists with concern for her son. “Of course”, he laughs. “Okay, if you’re sure.” She says as she opens the metal gate to the front yard. They slowly walk through the cracked pathway until they reach the steps to the porch. Beatrice opens the sturdy door with her keys. “Honey, I’m home!” Scottie yells into the empty living room. “Must you do that every time you come inside the house?” She says fondly. “Of course, I must.” He says as if she should already have known the answer. While they were talking, Alice and Jake, Scottie’s younger siblings, heard his announcement and excitedly ran out of their room and down the beige stairs. “Stop making all that racket!” she admonishes her children. “SCOTTIE!” they yell out enthusiastically. “You’re home!” Alice states, full of wonder that her big older brother is finally back where he belongs. “Well, it’s obvious that I’m home unless I’m an imposer who’s secretly an alien”, He jokes, winking at Alice. “I definitely didn’t miss your humor,” Jake lightheartedly says. “Oh, come on, I tell the best jokes”, Scottie says smiling. “Yeah right, in your dreams”, Jake jokingly teases. “Leave your brother alone for right now. He had a long trip and he’s probably exhausted.” Beatrice gently tells to her…

In the beginning of the story, the narrator is nothing more than a curious child on vacation. As time goes on he is soon to find the realization that life is no longer the same. No longer is the narrator a child but is now and adult and gains the responsibility of being a father. In shock and curiosity of where the time has gone, he soon finds himself back at the scene he remembered as a child. His curiosity is evident in the quote "I wondered how time would have marred this unique, this holy spot". Shortly after arrival however, he finds that time has not changed the setting as much as he would have thought. This is evident in his quote "when I got back there with my boy, and we settled into a camp... I could tell it was pretty much going to be the same thing as before". The narrator notices some slight changes on the way such as technological advances and changes in the soda that goes around but not anything significant. The real change is encompassed in the fact that he is no longer playing the role of the child, but is now playing the role of the father. It is an eye opening event when he realizes that he is almost reliving his experiences through his son's.…

Isolated. How else was I supposed to feel? Lost maybe? How was I supposed to cope with a decision I knew I wasn’t a part of. The sound of the rolling tires against the highway asphalt fused with the sound of the humming from the car engine. I had just spent a week in Yosemite as part of an 8th grade trip and had come back to realize that my parents had bought a brand new house. It was all excitement and happy smiles until my dad told me the location of this new house... “Fremont.” The words rebounded off the walls inside my brain as the echoes became more distant, my heart moved into my mouth as anger swelled from my stomach and bubbled to my throat. Cupertino was all I knew. I labeled it as my home city, even though I wasn’t born there. What…

I look around the house to try to find clues of what my future life is like. I find pictures of my family. I have 2 kids, a boy and girl. “And then as the evening changed the hour, at house after house on the twilight streets, under the immense oaks and elms, on shady porches, people would begin to appear, like those figures who tell good or bad weather in rain-or-shine clocks” (K. Flachmann and M. Flachmann 63). Suddenly, Lin beams up beside me. Lin asks, “Are you happy? Is your life the way you always wanted?” “Yes!” I answered. “I will have to get used to some of the changes, but I love my life in the future.” All of a sudden, I lift into the air like a ghost. I start flying out of the house, into the sky, above the clouds, and then I am back in my room on the cruise ship. “and the voices moved on into the coming years….” (K. Flachmann and M. Flachmann…

The sound of the ocean is a form of relaxation but for me, I like to call it home. Ventura is a small county located in the southern part of the California and for the past twenty-two years it has been my sanctuary. The other two years of my life I spent in a smaller town called Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico. This was my birthplace and home to my parents until they made the decision of migrating directly to Ventura County. Within Irapuato City, there are small ranchos or ranches, located on the outskirts of town and at our rancho, we would raise pigs, goats, cows and, sheep. Surrounding our rancho there are acres of land, where we plant fruits and vegetables to consume and sell to our little community. Life in Mexico is much more rural than…

Feeling the water running down over them as she kissed him, her heart ached for him to be with him again and not just as the fake Mrs. Smith. Smiling she pulled away from him her breathing grew a little heavy as she let the words come from her mouth. “I am going to Harvard, but I’m not going without you. I tried to tell you that at the docks, but apparently it went way over your head. If you don’t come with me in September, I am not going. I will not leave you behind again.” she smiled as she kissed his lips once more. She was in that place where she wanted nothing, but him. She wanted to be close to him again like on the boat, but in a different way at the same time. “Please, just consider coming with me? I know, it’s not Chatham and you won’t be on a boat all the time and I’ll be busy some days, but I really want you to come with me.” she smiled as she kissed…
