John Bender's Transformation In The Breakfast Club
In the Breakfast Club John Bender was the character chosen for my paper. His transformation was very drastic through this movie. How he felt, acted and portrayed himself throughout the film. How he felt in the beginning of this movie was that he was stern and uncaring for anyone but himself. He was like this throughout the whole movie till the last half to quarter of the movie. He felt a special disliking toward the principal. Since he was the one that was punishing him. He also didn’t have feeling for any of the others that were in the group in the beginning of the movie. He didn’t care what they felt. Then later on in the movie he started to like Claire and have strong feelings for her. He also made connections with the rest of the group,

As you read on though you see that he starts opening up as you get farther along. The main reason in my opinion why he opens up as you read on into the book is because of the swimming team that he joins. He tried to play football but he had been cut from the team. Even though he doesn’t really talk, he is a really nice guy. In the book you’ll see this when the swim team is on the bus and they get into a deep conversation and he bursts in tears. On the bus Jackie had talked about how the team means so much to him because he really doesn’t have friends. As you can see though that has changed since this chapter in the…

In the movie ¨Dead Poets Society¨ Todd Anderson was one character that stood out to me. He was really shy and quiet and didn’t really fit in at school. He also didn’t embrace life like he really should have. Verse 52 from ¨Song Of Myself ¨ by Walt Whitman and a quote by Thoreau from Walden were great forms of literature that made connections with Todd Anderson.…

A person that affected me in the story was the chef from Caesars Palace because he gave him the opportunity to provide for his family, change his life around, and prove that he is talented and can be successful. “Mr.Henderson,” he said. “Did you kill anyone?” “No, sir.” “All right.” He said. “I want you to cook me dinner on Friday. Write up a menu.” This quote stuck out to me mostly because he gave him the chance and…

I chose this topic simply because of my interest towards evaluating main characters. Both the film Iron Man and the novel A Clockwork Orange, share a similarity in which characters consisted of such acts, attitudes, and behaviors; that were not accepted by others. In this topic, I am able to closely examine the main characters, and to study their personality and their daily lives. My interest focuses on character aspects, and how they developed throughout the story. This is the reason why I chose this topic.…

Some thing that really caught my eye about this essay is the fact that even though it was a personal narrative he rarely used "I" or "me". Instead of actually going in to depth about his song choices, he uses a different approach and reflects it back in time. If I could borrow one aspect of this essay It would have to be the way Ferris really incorporates the music and the period of time the music was in to bring everything together. Also, something I liked was that Ferris used "we" a lot to relate back to experiences many people have had like him.…

In the film he is shown drinking, smoking, and constantly laughing which is a sign of displacing his rage and frustration. When he laughs and jokes around it allows him to almost to avoid any personal questions. He also represses his feelings and emotions to avoid being hurt again. He does not allow people to get too attached and is constantly leaving people before they leave him because he has abandonment as well as attachment issues. A great example of this would be when he is with Skylar and just completely pushes her away.…

Dominic might be feeling excluded, lonely, confused and have low self esteem as he could feel that the children he sees attending the school have a higher status in society as they are allowed to attend the school. He is old enough to have probably attended school in his home country before moving to Britain and may be missing it and may make him feel anger towards the country/system he has moved to. He will be worried for his Uncle in prison without understanding why he is there. Dominic may also feel an amount of resentment to his parents as he might not understand why they have not tried to get him into the school if this has not been discussed with him. He may feel disempowered as at such a young age he might not feel able to express his feelings succinctly to his parents.…

When he came back to be principle at Eastside at first he was in shock but as soon as he walked in to talk to all the administrators and teachers he was really mean. In my personal opinion he needed to be mean but in a good way, firm and intense because if not the teachers and administrator would not take him seriously. I liked that in some parts of the movie he had an edgy and risky attitude and that’s what Eastside needed for a revival.…

The narratives starting from the beginning and also appear throughout the movie demonstrates his avowed superiority. For example, he says he has a better haircut than a colleague who looks alike like him in his mind. Moreover, he believes that owing a large amount of money is the identification of making him an important man and he is special. He only likes to associate with high-status people like him and sometimes have competitions with them. In the scene of comparing business cards, it turns from showing off Patrick's business card into a tense competition. When he finds out that Paul Allen has a better card, his face turns pale and even has sweats on his forehead. This jealousy is also showed when one of prostitutes who he brought to Paul's apartment says that Paul's Apartment is better which eventually leads to her death by making him angry. He also requires excessive admiration, he enjoys when people praising his Valentino suits, but hates people touching him probably due to his sense of superiority and haughty attitudes. He slaps Luis's hand away which tries to touch his suit. And once he passes by a homeless black man, he originally was going to help him, but shows a sense of disgust and disdain when that man touches him. So instead he says he is nothing like him, and beats and kills him. Furthermore, he is utterly obsessed with his physical appearance…
