Introductory AutoCAD is a basic level CAD course utilizing the universally popular
CAD software, AutoCAD.
This entry level course targets those with little or no previous AutoCAD experience or those with a need for substantial upgrading from previous non-Windows environment versions of AutoCAD.
Participants will learn the basics of CAD geometry creation and manipulation using a variety of computer command inputs including keyboard shortcuts, toolbox icons and mouse menu selection. Geometry created will include points, lines, circles, arcs, and basic polygons. Geometry is edited or manipulated using commands such as zoom, pan, trim, extend, copy, rotate and by the use of geometry “grips”.
Advanced CAD concepts such as 3D creation or Solid Modeling will not be covered.

Andrew Jackson became the nation’s seventh president in 1829. He made significant changes in American politics at that time. He was very popular with the people because of the fact that he was a hero of the War of 1812. He had also served in the senate and was a tough man who had manifested the spirit of the frontier. One change Jackson brought about was the steadily increasing power of the west. He happened to be the first president to come from the west of the Appalachians and was also the start of a new era of democracy in American politics. President Jackson did not approve of a overpowering or controlling federal government. He felt the national government should be the least involved as possible as he vetoed many acts of congress in his term as president. He believed that the state should build the road and not the national government. Jackson’s idea of a limited government shared the beliefs of many Americans who feared the power of the federal government. Although many crisis did occur during Jackson's term as President like the Nullification Crisis, Indian Removal Act and the Bank War, Jackson was always a supporter of a limited federal government.…

During the CAD/CAM lessons at university I had really struggled, firstly with getting my head around using the computers so prolifically, as they were pretty much alien to me as a dressmaker and then secondly, learning a whole new world of designing on 2d Design and Solidworks. However, I was surprised at when push came to shove and I was in a KS3 classroom, with children needing assistance, sparks of useful (well, sometimes, useful) information would come to the fore and help out. I realised that sitting one-to-one with a pupil we could, through communication, analysis, trial and error and stamina work through the process to get to our goal. I would have been happier in these initial cases to have provided a perfectly succinct solution to the pupils’ problems, but I believe it was actually enormously beneficial to be so lacking in subject knowledge, as I built relationships with many of the pupils and became more aware of their learning styles, needs and also shared their sense of achievement.…

    1. There are many environmental forces that changed during Detective Rich Miller’s career. He talks about the veterans complaining about the Miranda warning, and the new emphasis on the exclusionary rules and other changes that gave defense attorneys more leverage in cases. He recalled a senior detective asking why anyone needed anything more than a high school education to do police work. He also included that entry into law enforcement required at least a community college degree, and his department required at least a four-year degree. Promotions to lieutenant and above required a master’s degree. I believe that the change of Miranda warning is a beneficial change because it reminds individuals of their rights before the police are allowed to ask any questions. This is helpful to the person being arrested at the time but can also be a disadvantage to a police officer’s investigation. I believe the change in required education for law enforcement is also beneficial to policing. I think that requiring a minimum education to enter law enforcement will ensure that police officers are prepared and knowledgeable to perform their duties.…

Known as “the Father of CAD”, Patrick Hanratty was the one who invented the first commercial CNC programming system. Five years later, his work was joined by Ivan Sutherland’s, whom himself presented his Ph.D. thesis at MIT entitled “Sketchpad, A Man-Machine Graphical Communication System”. In the 1960s, the first digitizer and the first production interactive graphics manufacturing system were developed and introduced. It was in the same decade that more and more companies were formed to commercialize their respective products of CAD programs. A decade later, CAD researchers started to shift their focus from 2D to 3D. Although commercial CAD systems for UNIX began to show up in industries like automotives, aerospace etc., it was when the first IBM PC were introduced in 1981 that triggers a large-scale reception of CAD. Thanks to that, Autodesk was formed shortly after and the company created AutoCAD, the first significant CAD program for the IBM PC, later in 1983.…
