I actually saw the show “Undercover Boss” when it originally aired. The concept of a boss going undercover to get a first-hand knowledge of what your employees do on a day to day basis is an indication of unique kind of boss. Joel Manby is that special kind of boss. Joel Manby is the Chief Executive Officer of Hershner Entertainment, a multi-billion dollar Christian-based organization. He believes that culture comes from osmosis. Why should we have a different set of values at home than we have at work? Manby uses Love as a verb from the Bible. Agape love has to do with behavior and how you treat someone, nothing to do with feelings. I absolutely love this idea.. When you treat people how you want to be treated, with dignity and respect, you will get must better productivity and employee satisfaction. The whole atmosphere is different. Manby uses teaches 1Corinthians 13 using these eight principles: Patience, Kindness, Honesty, Selflessness, Forgiveness, Commitment, Humility, and Respect.
