Job Corps
Job Corps offers opportunities to receive academic and professional success. Because of this, I have several reasons for enrolling in this program. My first reason is I did not succeed in passing the high school graduation test. Secondly, this is another chance to prove to myself that I can do it. Thirdly, my son needs to know just as much as I do that he should never give up on anything ever in life. People do not realize that in life they must take advantage of the opportunities given and stay focused on success. Although this was a second chance, for me it is the beginning of a new life, And a great life for my family, My first reason for attending Job Corps was I did not pass the high school graduation test. When I did not pass the test, I felt very depressed. A goal that I had worked toward for more than 12 years seemed like I could not accomplish, for the sake of having a better future, for my son and I,. However, I would not accept defeat, and will not ever accept defeat with anything that I do, . I was determined to regroup and reorganize my priorities. For this reason I decided to push myself to attend Job Corps to finish my education. This decision was a big change in my life; a chance to better myself. Prior to coming to Job Corps, I went to another alternative school in College Park, Georgia, McClarin High School.. This was not a bad decision for me. I just felt that at the time, it was not meant to be. I was also experiencing some personal issues. Due to personal circumstances, I did not complete that educational program. So on May 24, 2011, the day that I entered the Job Corps, I knew that this pursuit would be the second best thing to happen to me in life.
When I entered Job Corps, I had to write a paper entitled “Proving Myself.” This title alone was the encouragement I needed to stay in the program and to do my best, and doing my best this far, thanks to the staff support that I have.. Since joining the Job Corps, I have

Nonetheless, through the challenges, I discovered strengths in myself. I have always been mainly a follower because I am easy to get along with. At times this quality has hurt me, but during my time at the camp I was transformed into a leader. The group of volunteers I was working with were not as motivated or passionate as they could have been. I could not do all the work myself, so I took my stand as a leader and motivated the dietary staff team to do their best work. I used my voice to delegate tasks to efficiently get them done, as well as pushing with perseverance when I was beyond the point of exhaustion.…

The experience that had a big impact on my life is going to medical camp. The medical camp was held at our local hospital. The camp allowed me to tour the hospital and speak to workers in various positions throughout the hospital. To get into the program I had to write an essay and have a GPA of 3.5 or better. At camp I was the youngest and the only African American there. While there it opened up my eyes to many other jobs in the hospital that interested me. Prior to going I wanted to be a Pediatrician, but while attending I found two other professions that interest me. The first profession is Occupational Therapy. Occupational Therapy is for people who go through surgery or get into an accident and try to relearn activities of daily living…

As stated in one of the readings, a transnational corporation (TNC) is a firm which has the power to co-ordinate and control operations in more than one country, even if it does not own them. The most interesting of these three readings, The Case of Nike, exemplifies that statement very factually and in good detail. As Locke presents, before Nike even became Nike, the two founders took advantage of a globalized shift in the economy, seeing how domestic companies manufacturing appliances are being outsold by international companies, they applied the same logic to sportswear and ventured into Asia, one step at a time.…

The idea of joining the academy came from my desire to lead. I would always the be first to volunteer myself, or if I saw someone in need I would be right by their side and do all I could to help them succeed be it through encouraging them, explaining an idea to them, or by acting as an anchor in a difficult time. This desire began to be applied to a broader scale as I got older, and my desire to attend a Service Academy stems from said desire. The specific reason for wanting to attend a Service Academy is that I understand that as I try to serve…

This organization has become an important part of my life because it has shaped me into the leader I am today. I began in the organization as a member and participant in competitive events, I have now worked my way up to being my chapter’s President and the Missouri State First Vice President. I agree this program offers a second chance. Everyone deserves a second chance for success. The youth are the future of tomorrow and if the community and government are not willing to invest in the youth, it will be hard to reach success. The program is also helpful in helping the youth decide on a career. A lot of times, when kids drop out of high school, they lack the motivation to pursue a career. Job corps has a variety of options one can look into and that will help get the training and provide jobs that can last a lifetime. I do like how the job corps has on campus living. I think it gives the youth a college campus experience; it teaches the youth responsibility. If there was another reform about the policy it would be to raise the minimum…

As a teenager I had many goals for myself in mind for the future. I decided that for my goals to happen I need to pursue a college degree after I graduated high school, but I knew that my parents wouldn’t be able to afford my college tuition. Before joining the service, I had plenty of part-time jobs as waitressing in different restaurants which at the time I thought it was a stressful job. If I had only known that going through army basic training was going to involved double the stress and aches I was going through as a waitress, I would have preferred to deal with rude customers, horrible working condition and long, stressful hours my way through college.…
