Volunteering at the
Children's Discovery Museum
Students volunteering at the Children’’s Discovery Museum will work alongside our staff preparing and maintaining museum spaces, facilitating art activities, and providing customer service to both adults and children.
Volunteers are responsible for engaging in play with children at our hands-on museum. A TB test is NOT required to volunteer at the museum.
Reasons to volunteer at CDM
* Meet new people
* Gain experience working with youth
* It is fun and engaging
* Ability to observe children for ChAD coursework
* Leadership skills
* Free guests passes for volunteer’’s friends and family
To get started volunteering at the museum……
Attend the mandatory SJSU volunteer orientation and training on Friday, September 26th from 11:00a1:00p.*
Reserve a space by e-mailing Kilani (klouis@cdm.org) indicating that you are part of a ChAD 60 class at
SJSU. I will send you a confirmation e-mail with details on where to meet and what to bring.
*if you are unable to attend this orientation, there will be an additional one on Saturday, September 27th from 11:00a2:00p.

We are only able to accommodate 20 ChAD 60 students this semester! Spots will be granted on a first come, first serve basis.
Volunteers at the Children’’s Discovery Museum agree to complete 50 hours over a calendar year.

Volunteer Availability & Support

Requirements
You will be held to the same requirements as all other participants in the museum’’s Team
