As a teenager with two younger siblings I know how precious and how much of an impact they make on my life. Personally, I think that Jiao's family should have the baby because having the baby could help the family ease some of the problems they are tied in like some of the emotional factors and Jiao's life.
First of all, stem cells have the capacity to help form specialized cells they replace dead, damaged , old (senescent cells, which no longer divide). In Jiao's case, the white blood cells or the lymphoblasts that will allow her to recover from leukemia(blood cancer) so that she can produce healthy cells than the cancerous cells. Since the chemotherapy drugs cannot distinguish between healthy and cancerous cells it would kill both types leaving Jiao extremely weak and more prone to other infectious disease. This happens because WBCs help fight off the infections working with your immune system, with drugs killing your WBCs it is hard for you to defend other harmful germs you are exposed to. Although, having a bone marrow transplant is another option, it is not feasible in Jiao's case because none of the registered donors have match with her …show more content…
Even if Jiao does not end up surviving Jiao's younger sibling could still remind them of Jiao's presence because they bought Jiao was the reason for the baby's life. Also, the baby would ease some of the pain from the loss of Jiao. Though it could be expensive to raise the new child, the new child will have a greater age difference between the older siblings which gives Jiao's family a chance to collect some money. Also, there are many facilities to help with paying for education and bank loans that Jiao's family could pay for. In fact, if Jiao is on the verge to be cured through the saviour sibling's bone marrow, Jiao could also help earning for his family through a part time job as many other teens do, until then her sister Alex can help. In addition there are plenty of companies that are willing to sponsor families like Jiao's. In addition, we can't really stop anyone from having a baby, stopping someone from having a child is unethical as it is the choice of the people having the child themselves; someone else dictating whether or not people can have children is
