Jewish Museum Internship
One extracurricular activity that is related to my interest in this internship is my experience at the Jewish Museum. I've worked with mainly children from all ages and backgrounds. I've done session in "Picture This!" where we would bring the visitors to the galleries and create art inspired by our surrounding. I've also done "Storybooks and Arts" where I would read a children's book to the audience and make artworks inspired by the reading. One of my favorite sessions that I've done is "Archaeological Dig" where the children are able to discover treasures from our stimulated dig and learn about the history.
Another extracurricular activity that is also related to my interest in this internship is my experience at the Chinatown Manpower

Also it is the one of the most visited art museum in the world. While, visiting High museum, I was drawn to two particular pieces from two very different artists. The Chest and drawers by Teyo Remy, gained my attention because of creative design and deep meaning. My other favorite piece is “The beginning of Life in the Yellow Jungle”, by Thorton Dial. Six million Jews were killed by the Nazi administration and their collaborator is what I already know about the Holocaust before visited it last Thursday. The History of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum located on 100 Raoul Wallenberg PI SW, Washington, DC 20024, as I got the address from their website. I got lost, however, the experience was totally worth it. Their hour that day was 10a.m until 5:15p.m. The only place that required ticket is Permanent Exhibit, other than that the museum open for everyone and there is no fee to enter. I thought visiting during the weekday would help with the crow but it still so crowed. The elevator is always full. There is no parking spot. These two things are probably the reasons why I gave it…

    Ethnographic Museums

In this essay, I will argue that ethnographic museums privilege viewing, at the expense of other senses. I will further argue that by privileging the visual, ethnographic museums become problematic in two ways- firstly, by not accurately representing the cultures they are supposed to be exhibiting, and secondly, by limiting the experience of museum-goers who may be visually impaired or otherwise unable to visit museums that are purely mono-sensorial. After outlining and discussing the problems associated with ocularcentric post-colonial museums, I will offer a few solutions to these problems.
The majority of colonial museums privileged viewing and the visual. In the 17th and 18th century, Europeans believed reason and sensuality to be opposing…
